Nice traditional style sukiyaki in the busy Namba region in Osaka. Worth spending the money on the beef as it simply just melts in the mouth. Sukiyaki sauce a little in the set side which suits my palate. Will be nice to add more veggies...rather than the huge amount of spring onions. Overall it’s still amazing because it’s all about the quality of the meat!More

Good place to have authentic Japanese sukiyaki in a traditional Japanese house in Dotonbori. You will be seating on tatami mats cross legged. If you have a problem with this you ask in advance for the usual western dining table. The beef quality depends on...the prices from 7000-14000Y. However even the mid range 9000 and 11000Y is already very good and highly marbled.More

This restaurant is in the traditional Japanese style. We were seated in a separate Japanese style room but instead of sitting on cushions on the tatami mats, we were seated at a table with chairs. The waitress brings in a hot plate and the ingredients...for sukiyaki. She starts the cooking but then departs and you then become your own sukiyaki chef, adding the meat, vegetables and noodles your self, stirring them on the hot plate and servicing yourself. If you are a sukiyaki fan, this restaurant will be satisfying.More

Visited this place on a Sunday night and had the 9000 yen beef. Prices range from 7000 to 17000 yen for both the sukiyaki or shabu shabu. The difference in prices reflects the different quality of beef you ordered. The food will cooked in front...of you and then you have to do it for the rest of the food after the waitress has explained the procedure to you. I found the beef to be excellent, tender and juicy. Would recommend this place if you want to try sukiyaki or shabu shabu in Osaka.More

My family ordered the 9,000 and 2 14,000 yen sukiyaki sets. The quality of the beef was very good. The sukiyaki soup stock is just nice (we can control our water and soup stock to achieve our perfect richness). It was definitely worth a return...visit. We had a great time!More

We ate at Hariju (or Harijyu, according to the menu), because it is a third of a three-part business: a butcher shop, a shabu-shabu & sukiyaki restaurant and a Western-style restaurant. We wanted some Kobe beef steak, so we figured a restaurant run by a...butcher shop would be a good place to get our fill of steak. The interiors are pretty plain - low ceilings, linoleum floors and plastic-wrapped tables. The menu features Western-style dishes, though some have been localized. For instance, we ordered a tongue stew, because I wanted to find out how they would cook beef tongue - it was tender and well-cooked, though it was underwhelming from a flavor perspective. Our friend, who is married to a Japanese man and enjoys local food, ordered a Beef Omurice, which is an omelette filled with rice mixed with ground beef and tomato sauce. The star of the meal, as far as I was concerned, was to be the Fillet Steak. It looked very impressive, served on a sizzling plate, but I found it a bit tough for Kobe beef and was left wanting. Perhaps the shabu shabu & sukiyaki restaurant on the 2nd floor is a better option, as I have read many good things about that place.
