Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I visited this restaurant for lunch on Dec 4, Monday. When I arrived at 11:10, there were about 10 people waiting in front of the door, but the number of the people in a line became 30 when it turned 11:30. Their operations were very...efficient, and I suppose that we do not have to wait so long. Food was good, and I recommend you to visit there when you are in Fukuoka.More

This old building in Fukuoka just have the feeling of very traditional kappo feel. We were sat on the third floor tatami room all the way in the back. When the food came out. Yes it was a course but it was so stunning. Mostly...seafood( seasonal) astonishing. Live squid sashimi. Seki Saba (local mackerel) sashimi was still twitching on the table. Everything was so good and it was amazingly affordable. I highly recommend this place staffs are super attentive and friendly. Both thumbs up!!More

Nice way to enjoy Tai. The sashimi in wasabi mixture was good by itself. Then add rice. Then rice and tea. Don’t forget to the store’s furikake which lifts the flavour to a different level.

Yoshida has over 50 years of history for Kappo-Japanese Fish dishes.Try their very reasonable lunch "Tai-cha" yellow tail fish marinated in special sauce. 95% of customers order this course for just over 1,000 YEN. Pour tea 2/3 way of the meal to make it "Tai-chazuke"...to make fish and ochazuke. Thus the name "Tai-cha". Tempura set comes with generous portions of four large shrimps and vegetables.More

We visited Yoshida for the winter Japanese taste, Fugu (Fuku, also happiness, in English Blowfish) Course. The price is only 5000JPY but the contents are quite OK, taste good. We had a starter, a Fugu Sashimi, Deep fried Fugu, Chiri (hot pot), and Zosui (risotto)...after the hot pot, besides we ordered several dishes and they all taste great. Especially Ika (squid Sashimi) was great, it is a whole squid from the famous Yobuko, and the rest of parts you can choose bake or Tempura. We chose Tempura, also veery tasty. We were so full and could not try their famous 'Tai Chaduke', which is the red snapper sashimi with rice and soup, but would like to try definitely! Oh, one thing for Fugu course, you should make a reservation at 'Kappou Yoshida Hanare', not Kappou Yoshida. It is the upstairs of Kappou Yoshida.More

An authentic Japanese experience. The sea bream and green tea is delicious. Just watch out for the squid tempura. We weren't expecting a live squid to be served, but out of respect for local customs we didn't say anything. It was quickly taken away and...turned into a tasty dish after eating the sashimi portion. The staff were exceptionally nice. They have a menu card written in English. Just note that the TripAdvisor link to the live Goggle maps sends you to the wrong place. It's not in the Tenjin Core building. You have to manually type the address into Goggle maps. It's down a one way side street. Worth looking around for.More

Bream Cha-Tsuke, katsu , tempura, sashimi lunch meals were all 1080 yen each. 1.5 x more bream set for 1620 yen. Don't miss trying the dried fish powder which can be sprinkled on rice. We reserved the only live squid available on that day, eaten...as sashimi and head part as tempura. Ika Tsukuri would range 3000-10000 yen, depending on its size The place was filled at 12 noon with nearby office workers, better to go at 1 pm after the peak lunch hour. Instruction of consuming Bream Cha-Tsuke: first bowl - mix bream with sauce and wasabi, pour onto rice second bowl - addition of green tea onto rice English menu availableMore

kappo Yoshida is one of the landmark Japanese dining houses in Fukuoka. Of course Fukuoka is well known as one of the best seafood region in Japan, but it's hard to tell where to go for the best quality cuisine and reasonable price. One of...my local friends who worked at the local newspaper took me there for lunch. I cannot forget the taste of tai-chazuke (red snapper sashimi on rice powered with hot dashi) since, and I make sure that I have lunch there every time I'm in town. Because of my fixed favorite menu I have not explored other authentic seafood menu including balloon fish sashimi, which are hard to come, they must be good.More

Excellent tai - red snapper sashimi with Japanese tea. Fresh fish, tasty, very unique to Fukuoka. If you are in town want to try something local, I strongly recommend this. First bowl you eat like a sashimi and the second bowl you mix it with...tea.More
