On a recommendation on a short break away we visited this pub for an evening meal. Chose the fish pie and I can say I have never tasted better. Packed with a variety of seafood plus the vegetables and creamy sauce was a gastronomic delight. Dessert following of Baileys, malteser ice cream pudding was a dream. Good atmosphere and friendly... On holiday on the way to our forest lodge, stopped for lunch. Four of us visited and had a wonderful lunch. Went back on our last evening for a meal and wow, they where huge. Had lasagne, fishermans pie, confit pork ans scampi, really nice. We had Freddie the dog with us and they where happy for us to take... More

Booked last minute for a birthday celebration for 5 people. High quality food and the service could not be faulted. Would definitely recommend.

We had a day out last month and on our return decided to call in. Been past many times and always wanted to try the food. It was busy when we entered, but fortunately there is plenty of seating. Lovely warm welcome and a table by the fire. One half is dog friendly, which is a winner for me, even... More

A few days in unspoilt countryside with family culminated in an evening out to this lovely pub. We didn't book as it was not weekend but it still got busy so I would suggest a quick phone call before setting out. There are loads of tables available but could be halved I assume, if there is a skittle game or... More

We stumbled across this pub a few years back and every now and again we have treated ourselves to a roast. This time round we hadn't been for over 12 months - and we pre booked for 2pm. Food was delivered quickly, very well priced, generous portions and it was the first time in months I've seen my wife clear... More

We've been here a few times now and it's always good. Excellence choice for vegetarians and there's a menu for children or smaller appetites too. The portion size is very generous so good value for money. The food is home cooked with fresh ingredients.

A few years ago my wife and I hosted our wedding reception at the Hunters and had a lovely time.We have visited since and whilst its menus are never inspired,we have always had a good time. It seemed the ideal place to have a Valentines night meal How wrong can you be. Being Valentines night, the pub was operating a... More

We were staying locally, reviews had suggested it was a good place to try. What an under assessment. After the first visit, didn't bother considering to try anywhere else. Absolutely wonderful attentive staff, who are so welcoming, who could not do enough for us or our dog in tow. Fantastic home made food, piping hot and very generous portions. Well... More

I came here for the first time today with my partner (who had been before). Because we had not booked we had to wait for a table, within a few minutes we were seated and a waiter took our order. The food was very good and there was plenty of it and all nice and hot. We will definitely go... More
