I have to admit, when I first entered this place I thought it would be an average kind of café, I was wrong! The food was lovely, and there are a variety of options available to suit everyone's taste. The staff were very friendly and they were all happy to help! I wish I could take this little gem with... We have been visiting regularly on a Saturday for quite some time. The bread is excellent, fresh daily and an interesting selection at weekends but go early for the full selection. The food in the cafe is always good particularly the specials. However the service is rather patchy, there appears to be absolutely no system or plan, leading to slow... More

A review of this place should written and read with care. The premise includes a specialist artisan bakery which produces superb sour dough and flavoured breads. I have rarely eaten better bread, anywhere. The let down, and it is a huge let down, is the cafeteria. The place seems to be in a state of total disarray. Not only dirty... More

Thanks you for taking the time to write such a full review. We are very sorry that you had a bad experience with us...this is not how customers normally feel and is certainly not the way we would like anyone to feel after a visit. We do have times when we are extremely busy and then suddenly everyone leaves at... More

Good service is a personal way. Only had a drink but was good either way. Bought a loaf to take home which was nice.

Simply great food, the bread is superb especially the pesto and walnut loaf - trying to get one home intact is impossible!

Thanks for the kind words, Colin. I know what you mean about the walnut and pesto whirls...one of our bakers has one every Saturday morning on his break! More

A good local bakery with a 'smallish' seating area to eat in. Good for breakfast. Freshly baked croissants are fantastic as are their Portuguese tarts (to take home) when available.

Thank you for your review. We have been making the Portuguese tarts towards the weekends since we opened over 8 years ago and are delighted that they continue to be so popular. More

Fabulous selection of bread and cakes . Made a coffee and walnut cake on request so I could take some home for my daughter . Love the Crich squares. My son said the sweet chilli sausage rolls were amazing. I had the quiche of the day and salad, really tasty and delicious.

I don't normally give full marks to any review as it stops complacency. However I must say the prawn salad sandwich I recently had was the best and good value sandwich I have ever had. The place was spotless and the service excellent. Well done

I am very sorry you had such a disappointing visit on this occasion. When we are busy, we do our very best to take table orders in turn and serve food from the kitchen in the order in which people place their orders. Sometimes food which is quicker to cook or prepare will come out of the kitchen before more... More
