The interior of the pub is beautifully done and it was lovely to sit by the fire. However, we had the Bell platter to start and when eating the breaded mushrooms, they were frozen in the centre (the waitress confirmed this). The waitress returned the platter to the kitchen where the mushrooms were removed, and platter returned without mushrooms. These... More

A long wait for service, items forgotten by young waiters, even forgot we had ordered starters. Fantastic food made up for the simple errors which I am sure will be rectified and ironed out as the this exciting new eatery matures. Roast Beef cooked to perfection.

I was late arriving so didn't have dinner here, However, the menu looked great. Good choice of meals to suit every taste. A very relaxed atmosphere with a good selection of beers. Plenty of comfy seating. My room was clean warm and comfortable. Breakfast was well worth it. Freshly cooked to order and plenty of it. I will return if... More

Been a few times for just drinks and food. Good choice of beer and wines. Menu is varied. Food and service is good although some food does seem like its straight out of the freezer jnto the fryer.. Seen a few people collecting wrapped fish and chips which is a nice touch. Great ambience with lovely centre piece fire on... More

Met for a date found the open plan and sofa decor relaxing and exactly right to hold a conversation. Had the ale and steak pie with chips. Efficient service, pleasant young man waiter. The pie was average with what tasted like bisto type gravy. The chips were home cooked, nice but average, the veg came in a separate bowl, veg... More

My partner and I were passing and decided to stop for a meal. We were pleasantly surprised by the décor and warm modern atmosphere. We were seated by a lovely log fire and after ordering were surprised at the promptness of the meal. Everything was above our expectations. The food was beautiful, the wine was great and the log fire... More

We had lunch here on New Years Day and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Although busy, the staff were attentive, welcoming and helpful with suggestions. The tasty food was piping hot and chosen from a small but varied set menu. It was excellent value for money. We recommend it.

Very disappointing. Had the set Christmas menu and, whilst nothing was actually bad, absolutely nothing was good either. Tasteless starter, followed by bland, dry, bought in, pre-sliced turkey served with bland undercooked vegetables. Even the roast potatoes were bland and the use of packet stuffing made up with too much water says it all. The impression given was of an... More
