Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Wanted to try a new lunch venue on a bank holiday Easter Monday and this fitted the bill .
Lovely charm and character and feel and was given excellent service throughout .
We ordered a sandwich with home cooked chunky chips and a Cumberland sausage and mash with onion gravy .
On arrival ,which was in good time ,the sandwich was really fresh, the home cooked chunky chips were delicious
The Cumberland sausages were 3 in total ,full.of flavour ,the mash was home made and with the fresh onions in gravy made it perfect, even put veg on the plate too .
We will definitely be back here ,service ,food quality and overall experience was delightful
Well done all at seven stars ,made our day

Took my mum out for Mother’s Day, the Seven Stars was recommended to us by friends and I’m so glad they did. The food was piping hot (always a good start), the portions were very generous and the staff were very attentive and lovely. My mum had chicken strips to start which she loved and I had to get my favourite soup, broccoli and stilton. Both tasted amazing! We then both opted for the Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding. Again, this was very tasty. The roasties were crispy, the Yorkshire pudding was huge and it came with some of my favourite vegetables all done perfectly. You will see us again very soon!

Lovely old fashioned pub and staff very friendly but food doesn't taste like home cooked food or maybe reheated. Chips standard cheap and greasy. Desserts seemed bought in. I pay lower prices at local gastro pubs where everything is freshly made and cooked. Only 3 other tables occupied yet 'reserved' was on every table lol. Shame as it could be a little gold mine as in a beautiful area!

Menu prices are out of date. Check the prices carefully - £4.25 fot a tiny bowl of chips couldn't decide if they were fresh or frozen, £4.70 for a pint ofWorthington. Had a baguet each - they were OK, but would have preferred a sandwich, although they were on the menu they apparently didn't have any. Won't be back.

Pub looks lovely outside and in, it was very cosy and looked like it would offer good simple home cooked food.
Sad to say food was Very disappointing. First time I’ve ever completely left my food when out to eat. I Ordered steak pie and chips, opened the pie to find one very small piece of steak in my pie and the rest was jelly gravy. Chips were clearly just frozen chips which were poor quality. No home cooking here.
Staff were advised but there was No offer of changing food or any other compromise.
Actually walked out feeling robbed!
Would not recommend. 😔

So, a village pub that claims to serve food and claims to serve drinks. Telephoned at 6:30pm on a Saturday evening to see if we could book a table for that evening. They had stopped taking food orders...at 6:30! What happened to their 9pm food?
Having dropped someone off in the village to attend a function, we then retreated to The Red Fox to eat, promising to return to the Seven Stars to have a drink with and collect the person we had dropped off.
We returned to the Seven Stars just before 10pm, having noted their opening/closing times as quoted on-line.
It was shut! At 10pm!
So, take no notice of their supposed 12 noon - 9pm food
Take no notice of their supposed 12am closing time.
In fact, I shall take no notice of this pub and never go again.

Absolutely lovely place and great staff! Often go with the wife and kids after a local cycle. Food is always hot, freshly cooked and has a real homemade satisfying feel about it! Literally can’t fault the food or the staff, great to see the chef come out and chat too. Highly recommended 👌

The little village location is wonderful. The old worn decor not too offensive. The 1970 toilets bearable
However.
The very reason one goes to restaurants is to have great tasting reasonably priced food that is presented well and leaves a great impression and you want to return.
Unfortunately this venue fails on all counts which is a pity.
Not an enjoyable meal.
However I believe they do a great Sunday lunch. But so do other venues.

The food at the Seven Stars is proper pub grub. Good portions and piping hot. We both had the Chicken and Leek Pie which was a proper pie with a base not a fake one with just a lid(Brunning and Price take note!)
We got a warm welcome and the service was prompt and very efficient even though the pub was very busy.
All the staff were very friendly and appeared to enjoy working there which helps.
It's not a fancy pub by any means but it's warm and welcoming and if you're hungry you won't be disappointed.

Seven stars by name Seven star review. We went for a family celebration meal whilst staying for a couple of nights at Thornton Hall Hotel. The hosts were welcoming friendly and attentive. The food was delicious nothing was too much trouble , 2 starters instead of a main , additional dish not on the menu . 2 vegetarians enjoyed a mushroom and red pepper risotto , vegan tarte, lasagne , steak & ale pie, lamb shank. Piping hot food
Yummy sweets. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Track and trace available. One way system in place.
Very expensive. Ordered a ham sandwich which came with salad. Cheapest supermarket ham for £6.95 I would have expected ham carved ham or better, not cheap looking ham for the price.
Husband order Chicken and bacon baguette no moans there, very nice.
Local listening to his phone very loud, would have thought he would have been asked to put head phones in.
