We stopped here for lunch on our second day in the Badlands. It was kind of your typical NPS diner food. The food was decent, service was a little slow, but I looked around in the gift shop while waiting. We got typical sandwiches and fries and my kids liked their meals. I'd eat here again if we were in... More

The Cedar Lodge cabins are amazing (see separate review) but their restaurant is very poor. I would recommend you avoid it all costs but there aren't too many (if any) alternatives. As it is pretty much the only place to eat, you would hope they would appreciate that advantage. Instead they seem to assume that they can get get away... More

We had burgers and they were very good, service was good and fast for a tourist attraction. This place is busy in the summer, so sometimes things might get a little hectic.

We were lucky to arrive early enough to get dinner this time of year. We had a hamburger and the Indian taco, both very good. We took a piece of pie with ice cream back to our cabin. Opens in the morning at 8 AM, so if you are staying in the cabins you might want to pick up something... More

We didn't expect much from this cafe attached to the gift shop/grocery/lodge reception so we were pleasantly surprised. Our waitress was delightful and the meal was quite good. The Indian Fry Bread Taco was delicious. The blueberry blue cheese salad with huckleberry dressing was fresh and flavorful.

We had finished our Badlands drive and saw this place. It looked crowded and convenient. We found out that the reason it was crowded was that no one could leave since it took so long to be served. It took over 45 minutes between the time we ordered and the time our food arrived. We had asked the waitress where... More

When at a National Park, there is often only one food choice, and this is true in the Badlands. We had dinner here, and I was happy with my meal. I had the Sioux Taco, and it was very good, and also very large. We also had a beer, which on a hot July day really hit the spot. Service... More

We were on a limited time tour and so we stopped to get food to go to compensate. The orders came out one at a time with a lot of time in between. Don't eat hear if you are in a hurry. The food was authentic and ok. Better to prepare ahead of time!

The food is good but the restaurant hours are very limited. The food is typical National Park concession food.

This is the only restaurant in the park, it is just ok. There is so much beauty in the park - pack lunch and eat with spectacular views. The salad bar sustained us - it was very unremarkable. There was no soup - something about the chef "burning" a batch and it takes an hour to get the next batch... More

Located inside historic Cedar Pass Lodge in Badlands National Park we are open seasonally serving visitors breakfast, lunch and dinner from April 15 until October 15. If you don't have time for a sit down meal, the store also sells "Grab N Go" sandwiches, salads and snacks.

For years we have been known for serving visitors to the Badlands our authentic Sioux Indian Frybread - homemade. Diners also have a variety of options from fresh soup and salad bar to wraps, salads, chicken, Tatanka dogs, plus locally sourced buffalo and beef.

Not only will you find healthy options, we also offer South Dakota made wine, beer and desserts, too, including the official dessert of South Dakota - Kuchen. We truck in SD State University ice cream from the school's dairy farm and creamery in Brookings, SD where they raise cattle and process their own ice cream. It is delicious! We are the only place in the western part of the state to be fortunate enough to have this scrumptious addition for your pleasure!

Pleased to be serving our guests during the 2014 season during the following schedule:

Apr. 15 - May 24: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
May 25 - Sept. 2: 7:00 Am - 9:00 pm
Sept. 3 - Sept. 30: 7:00 Am - 8:00 pm
Oct. 1 - Oct. 13: 8:00 Am - 6:00 pm

Last seating in the restaurant is 30 minutes prior to Cedar Pass Store closing. Bus Tours Welcome - especially with advance notice!
