We stubbled upon this place as and loved every bit of it. It is a very funny looking building and I don't think there is a plum board in the building. But that added to our overall experience. We both had crab legs because they were cheaper than any where we have been in Alaska. Actually we purchased three orders... More

This was OK - lots of character and the food was fine. Honestly though, I was a little disappointed. I had halibut fish and chips, which was something crazy expensive like $23 and it really didn't taste that different from regular fish and chips. Service was OK, but I thought there was a better atmosphere at Prospector's Pizza. As a... More

Noisy pub type atmosphere. Was crowded when i went - ate at the bar Good service , attentive, not annoying. Local fish and local beers seemed like a lot of locals, not just tourists so to me that means food is good and not overpriced, did not disappoint great food

Our first visit we had a problem with a hostess that was rude and crude. She took our name for a seating reservation so we went upstairs to get a drink. Her attitude was a little put-offish if you know what I mean. I am not sure but I sensed a little prejudice because we are two guys together. After... More

Sadly, I am downgrading my rating for "The Bake." After a two year hiatus from the Denali area, I was excited to re-visit the DPSB, but I ended up leaving disappointed. The ambiance was still a lot of fun (including some VERY interesting people-watching), and my server was nice- but that is where the positivity stopped. Despite being nice, our... More

My wife and I along with family and friends ate dinner at Salmon Bake upon the recommendation of a couple we met at MT. Mc Kinley (Denali) Princess Lodge. They had just ate dinner there the evening before and just raved about the food. So we made it our mission to eat dinner there the next evening. We were so... More

Great chowder and Alaskan Brewing Company beer at the Salmon Bake. Best part was the service. Both times, we had such nice and friendly servers. Thank you Kevin and Sammy for all of your tips on visiting your town. Didn't have to go twice, but found the place that comfortable and friendly.

We went to the Salmon Bake to get our first fix of Alaskan salmon. Service was good, maybe a bit too quick. The salmon was a bit well done rather than soft and flaky. The décor was very interesting. The building seemed to be very old with the floor sloping significantly adding a lot of character. They do seem to... More

I've probably tried to love this place about 8 times. For breakfast, lunch and dinner. Not once have I had a meal that blew me away. The location is extremely convenient, it's a great old building with a ton of character which I an always appreciate. The food is mediocre at best. I understand it's not located in the heart...
