This place was magical on Christmas Eve. The fireplace, Christmas tree, timber decor and Christmas decorations on the murdered animals pinned on the wall made it quite interesting for us from Australia. Dinner at the restaurant would not be worth it if it wasn't Christmas time (everyone likes spending money, eating and being jolly at Christmas). The French onion and... More

Just eating in a dining room with the Grand Canyon is a treat. The good food and service add to the experience.

The breakfast menu offered a great selection and the food was well prepared. The room was grand, just like the hotel, with an awe-inspiring view of the canyon if you get a seat on the canyon side Make reservations if you come in a busy season. Chat with the waitstaff for interesting stories.

I love visiting the national park lodges, so when I was in the Grand Canyon, I had to eat at the El Tovar. The dining room is very dark, and unlike other lodges I have visited, the dining room was not built to give everyone a fantastic view of the nature outside. The window by our table had a view... Over the two days we stayed at the hotel my wife and I enjoyed for breakfast the Sonora Breakfast, Omelette with spinach, feta and avocado. For lunch the Schnitzel Sandwich, the Beef Stroganoff and for dinner the Filet and NY Strip. Everything was very good. My only criticism would be that on my filet I would have love a bit... More

Stopped here for lunch with friends while visiting the Grand Canyon for the day. Beautiful old hotel building and dining room, very atmospheric. The canyon is right outside the picture windows as well. Good food and good service.

This is a white linen restaurant. It's on the higher end of prices. We spent probably 130 for a dinner for two. We were seated next to a Dad playing on his phone with his son a game. They were yelling "turn, turn turn" for most of our dining experience. The food was great but this really ruined our experience... More

Location, quality, excellent and friendly service. Best breakfast and dinner in the Park. But here we were also confronted with the social disparity in the present days US, having elderly people as servants. OK they are offered a chance for some income, but deserve retirement instead.

Geographically speaking, this is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful spots in the world. El Tovar, as a man-made structure, comes close to doing the spot justice. The dining room invokes tales of old. Service is friendly, though not very efficient. In our case, it took several reminders and 20 minutes to get bread. Food was ok, though my wife's... More

We ate in the dining room for dinner and breakfast. The food was good (not great) & had some interesting flairs-like a spicy hollandaise sauce on eggs benedict and the same sauce drizzled over (cubed, not shredded) prime rib hash. The house special cinnamon roll is as big as the plate & very good, we shared 1 and there was... More
