We thought we'd lunch here after our drive up through both parks. On checking the menu we found little more than burgers and hot dogs. The staff ignored us and joked about. We bought chips at the over priced market. Next time I'd eat at Kings Canyon lodge on the way down. At least they were friendly!

This is a great place to stop as you near the end of 180 in the canyon. We didn't get food from the snack bar, but grabbed some snacks from the well-stocked mini-market. They have a surprisingly big and diverse selection of beers. We got a beer and some nuts and strolled down to the picnic tables on the shady... More

In August after a few years not eating here, I ended my backpacking trip with a late lunch here before driving out. The menu had completely changed. French fries and fresh greens were no longer available. They were out of the tri-tip. I ordered a cheeseburger and potato salad. The burger arrived without the cheese and was overcooked. The potato... More

The lodge offers hot food for breakfast, lunch and dinner during designated times. The staff is helpful and pleasant. They offer hot water and coffee for guests of the lodge. It is nice to have freshly cooked food, but there are not many options for vegetarians and the food can be greasy. Not many healthy options.

The food at the snack bar was actually quite good, especially given their remote location and limited access to ingredients etc. I was pleasantly surprised.

Stick with basics. Breakfast fine with usual short order items. Dinner entres come with sides that are so dry they shouldn't bother. Hamburgers Ok. Shortribs the best main course choice. Outdoor barbeque on the other hand is outstanding when they serve it! Great meats and generous good sides included.
