We stayed at Skyland for four nights. Due to the convenient location of the Pollock Dining room, we had dinner here the first night. It seemed that there were maybe only two waiters working with a full dining room, which was terrible. The food was extremely overpriced and average in taste. Portions were inadequate after a full day of hiking.... More

My husband and I stopped here after hiking all morning in the mountains. We both had burgers and they were good. Service was slow, but we were in no hurry, so that was OK. I wish I had read reviews of this place before eating here so that I knew to try the blackberry ice cream!

We stopped in as recommended for the Blackberry ice cream pie (not on menu but just ask). After a hike to a waterfall, getting lost on a trail and seeing local wildlife it was a great resting point!

Food is a bit pricey for what you get. We go to Big Meadows. Does have decent atmosphere though. Wish they had more to offer for breakfast.

Had a wonderful breakfast. French toast with blackberry syrup. Big, fat sausage links. Friend had full breakfast (scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, toast) and everything was good. No complaints.

This is an great location and is well maintained for the mountains. The premium rooms are nice, clean, and well cared for. I've been going here for 20 years, and I have to say the food gets worse every year. It is now terrible. Don't eat here - spend the time and drive and go to Luray (which is not... More

I have eaten here many times over the years and never had good service. The food is okay and the blackberry ice cream is to die for. Ask for a window table so you can enjoy the view while you wait and wait for service. It seems like there are a lot of servers and they do not have a... More

We had a wonderful dinner here recently. We were promptly seated by the hostess and the waiter took our drink orders. We started with salads that came with a variety of baby lettuces, cukes, grape tomatoes and fresh julienne carrots. I had the homemade sherry vinaigrette which was awesome. I ordered the pork loin and pan sauce made with whisky... More

The restaurant at Skyland is everything you expect from a national park lodge. It's big, loud, soulless and serving average food. The choices are nothing special and they're executed not particularly well. My steak was OK at best, though my wife's trout was a little better. We skipped dessert since what was being served notice to others looked pretty awful.... More

This restaurant is a HUGE disappointment! And it is a little pricey. VERY slim menu offerings. And to make it worse, they were out of KIDS BURGERS ( really?!) and their famous Blackberry Ice Cream Pie ( luckily we got it at Big Meadows Lodge instead!) mushrooms and onions ( for an adult burger). The decor is old and outdated.... More

Skyland’s Pollock Dining Room serves wonderful regional specialties with farm-to-fork flavors and sumptuous views of the Shenandoah Valley. And considering the elevation of Skyland, it’s only natural that Mile-High Blackberry Ice Cream Pie is a house specialty!
