A short distance from Hartland town centre lies a tranquil spot in the woods at Pattard Farm. Here in our restaurant we create dishes inspired by the nature that surrounds us and a passion for the local area. Having lived in the South-West for most of our lives we believe it has some of the best produce in the country, which we are excited to share with our guests.

Pattard is open and wow! Tucked away on a farm just outside Hartland, professionally and courteously fronted by Felicity and with Aaron in the kitchen, this little restaurant is going to be a big hit.
It is little - around 8 tables in total in what appears to be a modern converted barn. Lots of eye catching individual touches to the decor (I won’t spoil the fun by detailing).
A small but varied menu of 5 starters and 5 mains, which do apparently change. My wife skipped starters and had roast monkfish as her main. It was magnificent (yes I stole a bite or two!). I had the tortellini with asparagus and pine nuts to start. Beautiful freshly cooked pasta with delicate tastes. A touch bland for me but still enjoyed. Then came my seared lamb sirloin. Oh my word. Unquestionably the finest lamb dish I’ve ever had, cooked to perfection. And one of the accompaniments was crispy potato layered with lamb belly. I’ll stop there because my words would not do it justice. We finished by sharing a delightful cheese board including fruits soaked in port and, another huge wow, truffled honey.
With a glass of wine each, the bill was an extremely modest £77.50. Service charge at the diner’s discretion.
This gem of a restaurant is set for big things. I can see Michelin calling soon.

What's a top-end restaurant like this doing 10 minutes walk from the lovely (but small) town of Hartland? The comfortable dining room, friendly staff and exceptional food at very reasonable prices make this a 'must visit' eatery for anyone in the area. Sunday Lunch is unmissable (serously, the best roast beef I have ever tasted) at pub prices. The restaurant is family-owned and run and it shows in the attention to detail, reliable quality and warm efficiency of service. But don't take my word for it, go and experience it for yourselves!

We went here today for lunch. As a family of 13 plus 3 dogs on holiday together we knew it would be a big ask of anywhere to accomodate us but this place were more than happy to serve. (We did book beforehand and were told we could have the outside area.)
We arrived and our tables were set in the idyllic meadow by the restaurant.
The service was lovely; friendly, and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.
The food was top notch too, from the wonderful steak and ale pie - with not a single scrap of fat or gristle, but just lots of delicious chunks of steak, to the superb scones and bubble and squeak served with excellent ham, peas and 2 fried egss - everyone was happy!
Would highly recommend this place. The chefs know what they're doing and together with great front of house they make a perfect team.
Just wish they'd had a bottle of chilli sauce!

I had booked a table at Pattard Resturant as a surprise for my husband's upcoming birthday. From the outset Felicity was very helpful when making the reservation and from the moment we arrived we knew we were going to have a very special evening. The location is fabulous, in the beautiful countryside of the Hartland Peninsula and the restaurant itself is tastefully decorated and nicely lit creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. We were greeted with a smile and shown to our table, given freshly baked bread and super tasty butter with a carafe of water as well. The menu is divine and we genuinely had difficulty choosing what to have. All 3 courses were wonderfully presented and tasted incredible. Such a combination of flavours on one plate! Including a birthday candle with my husband's dessert was a thoughtful touch! Felicity and the hardworking, super attentive team are fabulous. We'll definitely be booking again next time we're in North Devon!

Lovely restaurant in a converted barn just north of the village of Hartland. The food was absolutely gorgeous- Lou had the hake and just kept saying ‘this is just sooo lovely’. When food tastes like this you eat it slowly! Service was great too with very friendly attentive staff, not just for us but very noticeable with the other diners too. Thoroughly recommend booking a table here.

Thanks to Aaron for a truly delicious lunch, full of delicate flavours- loved the trout. Meal served by the attentive Fay in a very tastefully converted barn. The best meal we encountered whilst on holiday in North Devon.

Ate here while staying in a nearby holiday cottage at Cheristow. Can recommend this place as something really special. Lovely small restaurant in a barn conversation. Nicely done with a relaxed but professional vibe. Food was a real treat, beautifully designed and presented and a delight and surprise with every mouthful. Stand out dishes were the Grouse Breast starter and Smoked Pork main especially liked the Pork Belly Finger! Some nice wines by the glass so we were able to make a match with each course. With my dessert, a dark chocolate mousse in a chocolate dome the waitress recommended a Devon Honeyed Rum. Would never have thought of it but was lovely! Thanks to all the staff who made us feel welcome and did a great job.

We came to the area on our Honeymoon and this was one of the restaurants we had booked. Unfortunately my wife was ill just before we were due to drive there. We arrived but the smell of the food( It smelt amazing) was a bit too much for her.
I popped inside to say hello and ask the lovely waiting staff if they do some food as takeaway as I didn’t want to do them out of any earnings. They let me choose from the full menu and I was walking out of there with some takeaway boxes 15 minutes later. I felt bad as all their food was so beautifully present, yet it still looked amazing in a foil parcel. I sat down inside with a glass of wine whilst waiting and the staff were incredibly friendly. The atmosphere was lovely as was the whole restaurant.
When i got home both courses were still hot and tasted amazing.
We’ll definitely be back to eat inside in the future.
I can whole heartedly recommend eating here.

We’d had dinner here a few years ago when we were on holiday nearby and, as we were in the area today, we decided to come back for Sunday lunch. We were so pleased we did. On a Sunday Pattards is obviously up against many excellent pubs locally serving a traditional roast. And they did fantasticallY, with portions which were generous without being overwhelming. The starters were of course much better, and more varied than you’d get in a pub- as were the desserts. We had lamb and turkey mains and the meat, and accompanying veg were cooked to perfection. And excellent value for money. Thank you! We’ll be back next time we’re in North Devon

We had a terrific Sunday lunch here on our short break. Perfectly done roast beef with all the trimmings and the freshest of vegetables. All done in a fabulous farm setting in the Devon countryside. The restaurant itself is in a stylish barn conversion and the front of house team were very friendly and helpful. Felt safe Covid wise too after months of lockdown 3!

A rather austere barn of a room, probably because we visited on an out of season Thursday early evening and were the sole diners. Personable young owners - he an attentive but not obsequious front of house, and his partner an unsung genius in the kitchen. The food was beautifully cooked and presented; I've literally, in the truest sense of the word, had no better at top Michelin starred restaurants at triple or quadruple the price. Although it's certainly not cheap, the value for money cannot be underestimated; in the region of £90 for two courses for two people, including two large glasses of excellent wine. Difficult to locate, and the signage was confusing - at least to this septuagenarian - but definitely worth the effort. I cannot recommend this establishment too highly.

We were lucky enough to hold our wedding reception at Pattard. Everything was amazing, from the service to the amazing food and wine.
Everyone in the party commented how wonderful the food and venue was. I had the pork belly starter and lemon sole main - both absolutely delicious.
Felicity and Aaron couldn’t do enough for us on our big day and we’re so grateful to them for making it so special. They even collected flowers for the tables and put up decorations for us.
I’ve read a couple of reviews about small portion sizes - the portion we had were very generous and I actually couldn’t finish my dessert which was upsetting as it was so delicious!
Many thanks again for a wonderful afternoon - we will be back!

We have tried a few farm restaurants, with mixed success. Pattard is located on a farm but there all similarity ends. This is an independent and really top class restaurant. It serves an imaginative range of food, superbly cooked and presented.
On the night that we visited there was a good buzz despite Covid restrictions.
There were good options for meat, fish and vegetarian choices, cooked in the open fronted kitchen area at one end of the converted barn. Staff were helpful and friendly and did their best to create an enjoyable evening, despite all of the constraints that they must now be working with.
It's a little off the beaten track but well worth seeking out

First visit for Sunday lunch and we were so pleased to have made the most of the advertised cancellation today.
Beautiful restaurant. Totally Covid safe through system in place.
Roasts were just lovely. Beautiful meat accompanied by tasty vegetables, Yorkshire Puds and extra gravy. The meat may prove slightly too rare for some, but I guess that depends on how far through the joints they are for your time-booking. This said, they were melt in the mouth and not bloody on the plate at all.
Finished with delightful desserts to make a perfect rainy Sunday afternoon.

As one of a painting group, having been on one night towards the end of our stay nearby, we found the food so exceptional that we had to return again. We all thought the food was exceptionally good; imaginative, balanced flavours, perfectly sized portions. The service was cheerful, helpful and efficient. This fairly new team needs wide recognition for such good cooking.
