An amazing place cocooned in the lap of nature, with gorgeous greenery and foliage, rolling meadows dotted with bleating lambs and the music of murmuring water and chirping and cooing birds is an extravaganza on the senses once you can escape away from the din...and bustle. It's a joy to spend some time at this hidden gem in Shropshire. The host Phil is a gentleman and the staff more than happy to help always. Best serene night out ever you can imagine with your beloved in English countryside!More

New, swanky eaterie with some interesting dishes on the menu designed to attract vegans (why?) and so probably not focussing as much as it should on the dining options of the majority. Tasty fish pie and good vegetarian chilli with good service, but plastic plants...everywhere and attempts at rusticity somewhat missing the mark and leaving me underwhelmed overallMore

Visited Christmas Eve while staying in Ludlow. Only had a main which was sea bass and was fabulous. Cooked to perfection. Had a large lunch so couldn’t eat more courses but will be back on an empty stomach to try more. The atmosphere was great...and the place so beautifully decorated. Can’t wait to go again.More

We had two amazing December nights at The Baron at Bucknell. The location meant that our first night was perfect for stargazing as the area is free from light pollution. The outdoor natural pool made for a bracing start to my day with a solo...dip at dawn and a warm through in the hot tub. The service is fantastic as this is a family affair and their heart and soul is in it. We had two delicious dinner and two equally tasty breakfasts. The secluded garden rooms are perfectly well equipped and beautifully decorated even down to the matching Christmas Tree. You are spoilt for choice with walks in this area of outstanding beauty, which your hosts can help with suggested routes. We will be back.More
