First visit to the Glasshouse for my partners birthday, will not disclose a ladies age. Food was good and tasty, had to slow the waiters down as service was becoming a little hurried, staff were attentive but not overpowering. Pricing was fair for both food and drink, my only issue was that my partner chose French dressed rack of lamb, but was served as individual cutlets, not as pleasing to the eye, to sum up I would go back again.

We bioked the restaurant for two of us on Saturday. Very busy night and it was packed , we were shown to our table without any fuss. Bowl of very nice olives were given to us and the drinks ordered. We ordered a starter which was tasty and the pace of service was well judged. We both ordered the same dish , a chicken dish with a chilli sauce, chips ,rice and fried courgettes. We really enjoyed our mains and then we ordered the desserts which I felt were well priced just like the mains. I ordered profitoroles and my wife trimusu which we were informed made in the restaurant only one word to describe it amazing. Great little restaurant with a very attentive staff even though the place was really busy. Well worth a visit and we will go again.

We decided to go for a last minute meal, they were able to fit us in without any bother. We were served by Eric who was very funny, helpful and knowledgable about the menu and the food on it. Top class service from everyone, very chatty. Would definitely be back. The only downfall i would say is the drinks are quite pricey, especially the cocktails for what you get! Other than that perfect!

I decided to book a table at the Glasshouse as it had been recommended by a friend of my wife’s and each time I had walked passed the restaurant it always seemed busy.. I took a mate who loves Italian food and myself also. The menu seems attractive and well price so after the good review I booked a table for Sunday lunch. When we arrived at the restaurant it was empty but I thought maybe people eat late on a Sunday as our table was booked at 12.30. We were showed our table and given menus and drinks. The waiter kept coming back to the table after having to check with the kitchen twice what the specials were. We decided to choose off the A la carte menu as it sounded more appetising than a roast dinner. My first point that started to annoy me was that as the restaurant was empty the waiters decided that it would be a good idea to hang around our table and almost joint in the conversation. At one point I wanted to say please can you go away, if we need you we will call you! Before I mentioned anything one of the waiters brought the food. From first view it looked ok but my friends veal escalope was a rolled piece of veal what wasn’t expected but different. As we started to eat again the waiters were hanging over the table again what was became overbearing! I ordered spicy seafood spaghetti, from first view it looked pleasant but at further inspection the seafood was a little lacking! Issue 2) Four dirty mussels with their beards attached and one prawn cut in half with tinned tuna in the sauce was not what I class as seafood spaghetti and neither was there any spice. I eat the dish and cleaned the mussels myself and decided against complaining or sending the dish back as we’re both hungry and wanted to enjoy our catch up then to wait for the food. My friend seem ok with his but after mentioning it was not memorable. Issue 3) The waiters seemEd a little in a rush as surprisingly the restaurant wasn’t busy so not sure why. As soon as the last drop of food was gone so was the plate and the same with the beer, almost snatched out of the hand!! I wasn’t surprised the atmosphere was lacking as we were the only guests but the service was rushed and unfriendly. I didn’t feel we were made to feel overly welcome. The poor food and rushed service made for a disappointing meal The dessert wasn’t anything worth mentioning either. When we left I had to apologise to my guest for lunch as I had promoted the restaurant and we both had high hopes. 4) There is nothing better when you leave a restaurant and turn the corner and see the chef (clearly not Italian) smoking and in Chef whites that looked like that had not been washed in a while. Restaurants! We don’t want to see someone who cooked our food smoking in site of the restaurant and clearly lacking in hygiene. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone! Poor service, and very disappointing food... and if you see the dirty chef just run for the door!!!

Hello Craig. I'm very sorry that you didn't have a such a good experience at the Glasshouse Bexleyheath. With regard to the service you received from our staff. We endeavour to make sure removed to remove the empty dish from the table as soon as customer finish eating. With regard to the staff be near there were good 5 m away from your table as my video shows. With regarding smoking outside in the alleyway there is a several restaurants in this Parade of shop it could be anybody. With regard to the racist remark you've made about our chef that he's not Italian that's unacceptable and is it racist to say the least I hope you will consider your review kind regards Jimmy at the Glasshouse!

The evening started well, Prosecco and food ordered no problem, bottle arrived within a few minutes and starter not long after which was delicious. Prosecco topped up regularly by waiter and then main was brought over at which point we ordered another bottle. Main cleared away and another request for second bottle was made around 15 mins later. 30 mins later, very thirsty and quite frustrated having not been approached by anyone we asked for our bill. 20 mins after asking bill finally arrived with second bottle we never received being charged along with a mojito which was never ordered by us. I advised waiter of mistakes and asked him to rectify bill. Ten minutes later we ask for bill again, it’s brought over and second bottle has been removed but mojito still included, we again advise waiter of mistake and bill is taken away yet again. Another 5/10 minute wait I approach the manager whom advises me mistakes happen? They are busy with 120 covers? They are struggling because of Covid? We wait 30 minutes for our second drink which never arrived, they then charge us for it and extras we didn’t have and then make us wait an additional 20 minutes for our bill? Ruined our first evening out as a couple in almost 6 months and his way of apology was to removed the £10 service charge!! Terrible service, we won’t be returning and I certainly wouldn’t recommend. Not enough staff, nobody knows what the other is doing and they blame Covid for it. Poor show all round unfortunately.

This would have been our second meal here, we live walking distance away and the first time we went there it was an outstanding meal. This time it was the total opposite! We had this meal booked for 3 weeks and arranged the kids to be looked after by the grandparents. We went in for our 3 o'clock reservation on Sunday and said to the gentleman that we had a booking, his reply was not the usual "what name is it under" instead he said twice abruptly "how many". So he sat us down next to a family who already had there menus closed so you would assume they were ready to order. looking up we notice the walls were dripping with water due to leaks in the flat roof above. We sat there for over 15 minutes with no menus and no drinks offered so I got up and approached one of the waiters and asked him for the menus. He grabbed one and came back to the table with me, said nothing put it on the table and walked off. We then found it was the wine list so another 5 mins went by and I had to go and find him again. I again asked for the food menus as we had now been there for over 20 mins. he marched back to the table with them where he literally threw them down closed in front of us and quickly asked "are you ready to order". I looked at him with a confused look on my face & explained that he had just given us the menus. To which he tutted at me and stormed off, the table next to us who were still waiting to order shouted "but we are ready to order" but he never looked back. So we grabbed our coats and headed for the door. Another waiter stopped us and asked what was wrong and when I explained it was like he knew about the attitude of the other one. But he offered no apology and didn't ask us to stay so we left. I took my wife down to Asos in Crayford where we have never had a bad meal or experience and you get treated extremely well weather they are busy or quiet. I will never go to the Glass house again it has completely ruined our experience there.

I have visited this restaurant many times since it first opened, up until a recent visit this week. Jimmy and his team have worked hard to bring a local venue and it's reputation up to top notch. They are always welcoming (at times comical) but very friendly. Food is always of great quality, with plenty of choice they will accommodate for anything. It's a versatile venue, for couples, families and friends. It's a gem for Bexleyheath. Only criticism is some dishes are a little pricey. Specials are highly recommended but they often cost more. So when with a larger party dining with drink it can hike up the price. Especially if like myself you are a non meat or fish eater. But that won't stop me going!!!! and recommending it.

Friday lunchtime and only one other table occupied - and I’d promised my wife we’d have the place to ourselves on this Valentines’ Day. Golden Earring, Stones Roses and the like provided the not so romantic music - and a bit to loud for my liking. OK in the gym but not for lunch. Free olives were provided while we studied the varied menu. We shared butterflied king prawns which were tasty and came with a couple of pieces of sourdough to soak up the dressing. We both chose skate wings with a caper dressing. It came with a sides of vegetables - roast roots and nicely al dente broccoli. I opted for chips. Boy were they to die for. Absolutely crisp exteriors complemented fluffy insides. Up there with the best. The wings were quite large. All food well presented and satisfying. Our waiter was friendly and polite. Overall good value. We will return to see how it is when busier. My only gripe was the very meagre selection of beers. Only two Italian brews in those silly little bottles. Note to management:We have got a brewery in the borough, you know.

This could so easily have been 5 stars but my wife insisted I mark it lower. Her issues were 2 points. She only ate half her starter as there was a bug on the lettuce leaf. She pointed this out to the waiter as he collected the plates but only got a very dismissive apology. I believe a good restaurant would have taken this more seriously and offered a replacement or taken it off the bill. Being in a group of 6 we didn’t want to spoil the evening by complaining further. Her second point was the cleanliness and state of the toilets. The toilet seat downstairs was loose and she felt the one upstairs looked grubby. Now for the good bits, the food. A few of us, including me had the Barata to start, which without the added bug, was very good. Again a few of us ordered the Lamb Kleftico special. The meat was cooked very well and could only be improved by a bit more sauce. The wine menu was good and the choice we ordered, both red and white, were good examples of their type. The service, again minus the bug issue, was efficient rather than friendly. Would we return? Probably not. We eat out a lot and the issues I’ve highlighted would put us off coming back.

I'm sorry to hear that you're not satisfied on the night. After speaking to the person in charge for your section upstairs. I understand that you have complained after the starter have been completely eating. And there was no bag. but symbol the salad.Slightly discoloured where the the salad has been cat. With regard to visit to the toilet. The toilet has been checked on hourly basis. Unfortunately if some of the customer have left it untidy before you visited we will always endeavour to put it right. I hope you will reconsider as we are working very hard to improve the customer experience in our restaurant kind regards.

Do not recommend if you are coeliac or gluten free. Despite phoning ahead and being told they could do anything for me, there is no specific gluten free menu and I was left holding back tears after explaining to the waiter who is also the manager what I couldnt eat due to being coeliac and he said to my husband "I feel for you". Absolutely shocking being treated like this due to a medical condition, it is not a choice and I feel anxious eating out at the best of times. So disappointed considering this was our first meal out since lockdown and was my husband's birthday. Also hubby's steak was not good, ended up giving him some of mine, got it taken off the bill but still a very disappointing overall experience

Having eaten an excellent Christmas dinner at Glasshouse Restaurant in 2018 our family was looking forward to an enjoyable meal this year to celebrate Christmas and my son’s birthday. We arrived for our 3.30pm sitting only to join a lengthy queue outside the restaurant. All the tables appeared to be occupied with little sign of people leaving. No explanation was given and we were left outside in the cold for a long while, our party including young children and a tiny baby. Some people were allowed inside but only to stand over people who were seated and waiting to be served. Despite the publicised Covid cleaning policy we were eventually shown to a table which hadn’t been cleared. Tables were being randomly allocated instead of pre allocated so this added to the chaos. Our table was then cleared but we had to ask for cutlery and crackers. Although we had pre ordered our food we were repeatedly asked what our order included. The service for food and drinks was extremely slow and we couldn’t help being aware of the general atmosphere of discontent. We asked several times for tap water and also for cranberry sauce for the turkey which never arrived. The meal was indifferent with turkey roll, one small pig minus it’s blanket and no cranberry sauce. My salmon was undercooked and cold and was sent back but was little better when returned. Some of the waiting staff were trying to be helpful but the staff were not consistent so requests had to be repeated. A friend and her family came to speak to us having also booked their meal and after being asked to wait an hour were eventually told they could not be accommodated and were asked to leave. Where were an entire family with children, parents and grandparents supposed to find a meal after 5pm on Christmas Day? Another family were also treated the same and these people were very upset. Other people were leaving part way through their meal due to the slow service. The manager was very rude and unapologetic throughout and seemed to have no idea how to deal with the general public. He obviously missed the half day course on customer care. An apology and a free drink would have gone a long way to keep people happy. The job of a manager is surely to manage! There were many discontented customers and instead of sorting out their problems he was to be found sweeping the floor under the tables. We note his previous comment that it was busy because the internet was not working but this is not an excuse for rudeness, indifferent food and a lack of an apology. His credit card machine appeared to be working well despite the internet problems. At the end of the meal we declined to pay the service charge and the manager was definitely not pleased. However if, as he stated, he had 300 covers that day he will have made a vast profit. Nothing would entice me to visit this restaurant again and I feel I could not recommend it.

The Glass House in Bexleyheath is a fantastic environment to either drop into or plan an event with friends and family, the staff are overly friendly and make an effort to give you a smile and remain professional at the same time of your order. The staff remember you when you return and go out of their way to make you feel as comfortable as possible. You're not just a returning customer to them you're almost like family, they will go above and beyond for you with no complaints or hassle and the food is amazing, highly professional and incredibly homey, I 100% recommend trying them for the first time and also entice you to return when you think of going out again!

Lovely venue and very clean. Family run business with a friendly vibe. The waiter Jimmy was funny and made us feel very welcome. For starters had scallops. Positives Cooked very well Good idea of using the shell to put the scallops in. Negatives Too much sauce to dip for the bread The presentation of the plate was too much and didn’t have much room to manoeuvre For starters had T Bone steak Positives Waiter knew the best way the t bone steak should be cooked at and his recommendation paid and the steak was cooked perfected Peppercorn sauce was lovely and have the consistency Negatives The presentation with the salad on the plate was not appealing Overall review: Would eat here again and I would rate it a 3.7 out of 5

This is the third time I have tried this restaurant as I like to give everyone another try. We went last Thursday with a party of six. Good starters but with six main meals we had three fish dishes that were cold and one meal totally forgotten !I do not call a “selection of vegetables” some mash out of a bag and three sprigs of asparagus , not at those prices and they were also cold. To cap it all to have the same food returned after it had been microwaved is hardly professional. To many good restaurants around to waste your money here.
