Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went to the pub mainly for drinks but decided to have some food while we was there. Also was quiz night which made it a great night. My husband had fish and chips and said it was lovely. I just had a portion of chips...so can’t really so much on mains. We followed this with toffee apple crumble which was to die for. This was a special they change the choice of crumble all the time. This isnt our only time visiting as live in the village. Lizzy, Alan and all the staff alway make everyone feel very welcome. If you have dogs these are especially also made very welcome, with dog treats and they’re own beds to lie on for your visit. Love going to the red lion and will definitely be visiting again.More

On arriving at the Red Lion the staff were incredibly welcoming, warm and friendly. The food was fantastic, 2 out of 3 of us are vegetarian and there was a more than usual amount of choices which was great. Overall the food was delicious, the...staff lovely and the atmosphere very relaxed and welcoming. The food felt like it had been cooked from scratch and seemed fresh. Really great place would definitely recommend.More

This pub looks lovely from the outside and so we expected a really good menu. We were disappointed as it consisted of burgers, hot dogs and very run of the mill food. We both chose the scampi and chips with peas. It was okay but...the peas weren’t garden peas and very bland. The service from the waitress was quite good but we had to wait ages for the food. We decided to try a dessert and ordered apple crumble and sticky toffee pudding but after waiting 30 minutes thought we would just give up and leave. We paid at the bar just as the waitress arrived from the kitchen with our desserts but we were so fed up and annoyed, we didn’t bother. The pub wasn’t particularly busy and the menu was easy cooking so couldn’t understand such long waits. Would never return.More

Came for a family meal during our recent holiday, there's a decent range of options available, I personally ordered the rump steak cooked rare. The steak was a good colour and very tasty, definitely not overdone, and the chips were good. For where we were...staying this was a convenient location and all the food we ordered was very enjoyable, recommended if you're in the area.More

Visited this charming establishment following a trip to Durdle Door and was instantly captivated by the warm ambiance and hospitable staff. The pub itself exudes a delightful coziness that makes you feel right at home. As for the cuisine, the portions were so generous that...I found no need to eat for the remainder of the day. Though I’m not a local, I would unquestionably return to this remarkable venue if I find myself in the area again. An unequivocal 10/10.More

Great for family dining with toys for kids. Manager was attentive. Burgers were excellent and kids meals were decent value. In-laws arrived a little later and we found there were dog beds available too. Good beer, great food - nice little spot!

Everyone was sooooo welcoming. We had dinner and breakfast which were all awesome. The pulled pork and pork belly were delicious. Beware of the pulled pork hotdog as it's enormous. We stayed one night in the family room and it was fine but would probably...benefit from a refresh. It is on a main road but we didn't notice any noise and it didn't affect our sleep.More

We were looking for a dog friendly pub for lunch on a very wet Saturday and saw that this one had good reviews regarding their dog friendliness! The reviews were not wrong 😁 They made sure our three dogs were comfortable by bringing a dog...bed, water and treats. One member of staff, Harriet, went the extra mile to make sure that our new rescue dog was happy and comfortable. Oh and she was great with us humans too! The food was delicious and very plentiful. Highly recommended place.More
