Best Sausage i've tasted in a long time......MMMMmmm sausagey! Also Dog Friendly. Little bit pricey but i'd pay it again

We visited for lunch as a family of 5. We all ate something different from the menu and we all thoroughly enjoyed each dish. The service was super friendly and the food reasonably priced. We will definitely return.

Popped in for lunch, food tasty and portions good. Nice menu. It was busy when we were there and they were one staff member short. I think under the circumstances the service was good.

Disappointing compared with previous visits. Welcome lacked warmth. Have never been a big fan of being made to stand in line, waiting to be shown to a table. Question need in autumn and winter,other than half terms etc. But there was no queue so decided...to go for brunch. However, staff need some training in customer service. No smile or welcome. 60s music playing through cheap, tinny sounding speakers is not what you visit such a place of beauty to listen to. Taken to a table and waited ten minutes in hope someone would then come and take our order. Lots of staff walking by, but noone came to speak with us, so we left. Will not choose when we next walk dog in the area. Owners need to ensure attention to first impressions is given and suggest to get rid of the music.More

Stopped in for coffee and cake after driving from York we had a short wait for a table and enjoyed the best flat whites and carrot cake I’ve been served in a very long time.The staff were welcoming and efficient 👍👍

We ended up here at about 3pm and had a delicious tea. Excellent scones and freshly made cake! Hugely enjoyed by my visiting American clients!

We went twice, Friday 22nd and Monday 25th, the food is gorgeous home cooked, both times they were extremely busy, lovely fresh ingredients and extremely friendly staff, especially Helen, we had a fabulous time and so did Charlie the dog, he had a doggie bag...both times. I really recommend this restaurant.More

We had an impromptu visit to this cafe after a walk in the lakes. Prices were reasonable for the location and the food was served quickly. Lovely location next to the river.

It's amazing how one member of staff can change how a customer feels on a first visit. We waited outside to be offered seating inside or out by a very friendly young girl who showed us to our table. Our order was taken by a...very polite young man, who was keen to help and advise on the menu we ordered our food and drinks. This is where sadly another young girl let the whole team down, she dumped the drinks on the table, ignored the customer, was chewing gum, ignored our requests looking away with total disinterest with the job and such a bad attitude (she had long brown straight hair and a blue necklace) Thankfully a chap that served the food which was just great by the way made us feel comfortable again. Very friendly and helpful staff. We both has scones which were pretty good 8/10. The reason it lost a point was the tea which was tasted really stewed even though there were only 2 bags in the teapot and was freshly poured. Overall though well...worth a visit siting beside the riverMore

Delightful setting, friendly staff, great food. Cannot fault it. Dog and people friendly. We sat outside and it was fab. Sandwich was very well filled and came with slaw and a colourful salad.
