Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have our Sunday lunch (carvery) here and are never disappointed. The food is always fresh, hot and all the meat very tender. The staff are all very friendly.

Costly meal for poor food. I ordered Roast pork & Yourshire, the port was cold and tougher than raw beef, the yourkshire pudding was black and ice cold, two warm small roast potatoes were quite nice, coffee was hot and nice, £34.95 was well over...priced, my wife did get hot fish meal but 2 hours waiting was bad too. I couldn’t recommend going to eat there.More

Called here for Sunday lunch, wasn't busy, as I entered there seemed to be more staff than customers. They ask you for your pudding order with your mains order which is rather strange. Service was prompt,, in fact a little to prompt, Ordered the Roast,...which consisted of bought in Yorkshire puddings, pork was tender, red cabbage which I love, tasted off, roast potatoes under cooked. Mains was cleared as soon as I laid my cutlery onto the plate and my pudding was delivered straight away. We were still chewing our puddings when the waitress cleared the dishes. Seemed to have a lot of new staff training with no one showing them the basic standards. What a shame!More

I went here for a date night with my boyfriend. Really nice food and staff. Had a lovely meal for a really good price! Would recommend the BBQ baby back ribs. After we had eaten we went to the bar and was greeted with a...lovely bartender. All the staff are amazing as they are professional and provide the best service. I would highly recommend you visit Livingstone’s Freehouse even just for a drink. I also hope to come back soon!More

There was 8 of us for our annual dinner out. The service was great, the staff were excellent and the food was brilliant. I have a steak and ale pie, probably one of the best I have ever had.

Stopped in for lunch on Saturday while taking a break from watching the bowls competition across the road at Kessingland bowls. Had fish and chips and a sausage sandwich. Both were lovely- and generous portions- didn’t need the chips that I thought I’d wanted when...ordering! We ate inside then finished off our drinks in the sunny beer garden around the back. A friendly place with decent food and drinks on offer (real ale included). Will come back if I’m back that way!More

We recently visited for a family meal whilst visiting family in Kessingland. The majority of us opted for the carvery and not one person was disappointed. All piping hot food with plenty of meat choices cooked to perfection. The choice of veg was unbelievable and...all really tasty. Others in the party went fir fish and chips and again commented on the quality of food and size of portions Prices were very reasonable Service was professional and attentive An excellent experience all round and hope to be back soonMore

Camping next door we ventured out for a local pint. We were not disappointed, the staff were welcoming and we felt we had found a local many miles from home.

The food and the service here is superb. Chicken tikka masala was the best as was the scampi. Reasonably priced, couldn't fault it.

Visited this venue primarily to watch football, didn't disappoint on that score even though the game did. Decided to eat while there. Food very average 'pub grub'. I had mixed seafood basket, lots of batter and not so much seafood. Husband had the pie, which...he found quite chewy. It filled a hole in our tummys, but wouldn't seek out for dinner again. They later had live music, which was entertaining. Staff friendly, but a very average place.More

We came here as a family to eat. Food was OK, nothing great though. The staff didn't look overly happy to be serving us food... and the pub felt cold and sparse. Wouldn't return for food but I guess was good for a pint and...a game of poolMore
