Good

Sunday lunch was excellent. Staff we nice. Puddings were mostly GF and not the best. Hogs back Ale is local and very enjoyable.

Great tasting food and excellent value with the free bottle of Sauvignon Blanc!

From the friendly welcome I knew we’d enjoy the evening! The meals were delicious, I had the generously sized steak and ale pie, my wife had the quiche. The sides were also tasty. Sunday lunch with family

First time at the red lion normally go to the waterwitch or derby but they were fully booked but we were not disappointed with Sunday lunch. Great fresh food cooked to perfection and a good range of wine and beers although a sweeter rose should...be available. Only miner criticism was vegetables could be served on a separate dish.More

We love Steph!

In all honesty, Steph is the only reason this pub is still alive. Catch up with friends

Excelent what morte can one say

Always good value. The changes in staff were good Very pleasant andd chatty( when not rushed) WE seem to go back quite regulary so that must say something!!

Mid-week treat

We enjoyed a delicious lunch. There is a great menu and the service was excellent. There is always a friendly welcome at this pub.

Amazing pub with great food and staff

Delightful stay

We booked a room at The Red Lion very last minute. The room was a good size, clean and with all the amenities needed. It has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We really enjoyed our dinner there and the breakfast was delicious. I would definitely recommend...staying here.More

Excellent Hotel Stay

We booked a two night stay here. Warm welcome from the host, who was friendly and efficient. Booked an evening meal, on an extremely busy night. Food was excellent, service spot on despite the pub heaving with customers. Our group of 4 could not fault...the service or food. Breakfast service was a relaxing experience, with a good choice provided, with continental during the week and full breakfasts available at the weekend. Room was spacious and clean, the only downside was it was very stuffy, however, we were provided with a fan which was a great help. The hotel explained that it could not install air conditioning due to the very old building layout. Shower room felt luxurious, with fluffy clean towels and toiletries provided on both days. My only negative was there was no wardrobe or drawers for clothes, however, this was outweighed by the overall quality of our stay. We will be back!More
