Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After supporting the Weighbridge for many years, including beer festivals. To cancell 30 dinners reservations over night, after people had travelled by boat to attend, others had taken annual leave from work, others travelled from London, just cancelled with in 24hrs appalling service. Hi, we’re very sorry we had to cancel your booking earlier this week. It wasn’t a decision made lightly but our only cook was taken ill and we simply could not prepare and serve meals without her. We’re very sorry this caused problems for you...More

Visited with family for Sunday lunch. Excellent home cooked roast, lots of fresh vegetables (the grandchildren love their veg!). Impeccable service, could not recommend enough if you want a homely traditional meal.

A very traditional pub. Three small rooms. Is now open Thurs to Sat all day. A local in the sense it has local beers (mostly) and a very good Worcestershire dry cider the day I went. Great location. You walk over the canal bridge if...you are arriving from the railway station. Beer garden is well looked after, the grass was being cut, when I was there. It wins CAMRA awards. Superb pub in a canal-side location - it was originally the weighbridge office for unloading goods from the barges to carts for onward delivery by road. Internally there's a wonderfully timeless atmosphere with three separate small rooms each with its own unspoilt characteristic. There is...also a pleasant garden, although this does not look out onto the canal. On the bar, there's a great range of about half-a-dozen well kept ales to choose from, mainly from smaller local breweries. They do simple, well prepared bar food, centred around sandwiches, jacket potatoes and a few hot dishes including excellent Black Country faggots, served with chips and peas, which is what we opted for. It's not the sort of place to come for that special meal but lovers of traditional unspoilt pubs and real ale will no doubt take delight in this venue. Not to be missed!More

Picture the scene; A beautiful sunny day, lovely pub garden. Upon entering a sign stating 'award winning pub 2023' Myself and my dad headed into the bar to get a drink - after ordering and reading out the menu the lady said 'we have temporarily...shut the kitchen as the garden is busy, your looking at 45 minutes'. We headed out with our drinks, the only reason we had stopped (we are traveling on the Canal) was to get a bite to eat for lunch!! My dad headed back into the Pub after a short while to see what the situation was, to not really get an answer as the bar tender didn't know what the chef was doing! Madness. We finished our drinks and left. The garden had 8 people in it, the bar a similar amount 😳 the menu was not very extensive. I was left feeling very disappointed! Not one member of staff came back to tell us what was going on. 'Award winning' ... in not serving food???More

Only discovered this place recently having visited for the beer festival a couple of weeks ago. We really enjoyed that so decided to visit again as we wanted to try the food. After sitting in the large beer garden enjoying the sunshine we went inside...to order some food off the varied menu. The inside of the pub is quite quirky with little "nooks and crannies" but comfortable and welcoming. The bar is very small though but that's not an issue. We went to order our food but was told that they had stopped serving as they were really busy and the kitchen couldn't cope!!! Apparently the pub down the road was sending people there as their kitchen had a problem!! Obviously we were disappointed and started making plans to go elsewhere. As we were leaving we were called back by a member of staff who said they were serving again. We came back in thanked her as she didn't have to do that. We ordered our food and it came quickly and was amazing!! My husband and I had a ploughmans lunch and it was fab!! So much cheese......we took some home!! Our experience here was second to none and all praise to Caroline. She was on her own behind the bar most of the time on a very busy day and she served everyone efficiently and with a smile. She also took time to stop us from leaving when she didn't have to. She is a credit to you and every pub should have a Caroline!! We will definitely return in the future..More

The Weighbridge is an exceptional pub and has been my local for well over a decade. The food is great and the selection of beers and real ales are excellent and are superbly kept. Chris, the new owner/ manager is a great host. Nothing is...too much trouble and his staff are very helpful too. The Weighbridge is in a wonderful setting too, right next to the canal and surrounding marina. It can get very busy especially at weekends so it is preferable to book a table in advance. I have absolutely no problem in recommending The Weighbridge with a deserved five stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐More

Hordes of hungry car enthusiasts poured into The Weighbridge today, and the place was packed to the gunnels. Amy proved to be an absolute star! She juggled cash, credit cards, catering and calls for beer with aplomb. What a phenomenal young woman. She held the...fort totally on her own and was most impressive. A delightful character, a charming smile and the patience of Job. Amy - you were perfect. How you kept your cool - I just do not know. Very well done. Great place - stunning service.More

Having not long moved to the area we though we’d try here for a drink after our walk along the canal. A really nice spot by the marina, the landlord was really friendly, let me try a couple of ales. We then sat outside with...some locals and had a good chat with them too, a great local pub which we will visit again soon!More

Not inside the actual pub as dogs are not allowed in. There is however a 'lean to' area outside, under cover with tables and chairs and there is also a garden. Dogs are allowed in both these areas where you can eat. No hot... More
