Superb pub in a canal-side location - it was originally the weighbridge office for unloading goods from the barges to carts for onward delivery by road. Internally there's a wonderfully timeless atmosphere with three separate small rooms each with its own unspoilt characteristic. There is...also a pleasant garden, although this does not look out onto the canal. On the bar, there's a great range of about half-a-dozen well kept ales to choose from, mainly from smaller local breweries. They do simple, well prepared bar food, centred around sandwiches, jacket potatoes and a few hot dishes including excellent Black Country faggots, served with chips and peas, which is what we opted for. It's not the sort of place to come for that special meal but lovers of traditional unspoilt pubs and real ale will no doubt take delight in this venue. Not to be missed!More
