Finished off a great weekend in the area by having the best full English I have had in a long time. Fairly priced bearing in mind the quality of the produce. Really friendly helpful staff. The weather was so great we could eat outside in February. Free parking and clean toilets. Highly recommended

We love this cafe and always have great food in a fabulous setting with great service but why oh why are the toilet facilities so inadequate. The beach toilets were closed which left only two staff toilets for an extremely busy cafe. I'm sure health and safety must be an issue here.

The Venus Cafe at Blackpool Sands near Dartmouth is a great place to get a good breakfast. The meals are tasty and the ingredients are from local produce. It does get quite crowded but it's worth waiting around to get a meal.

Had a lovely breakfast mackerel & poached egg Menu stated price was £7 When I was paying I was asked if I lived locally or not. I asked why this information was being asked & was told we charge you £2 extra if not local! This is a breach of trading standards of menu price is listed and you charge... More

Great place for lunch, warm family atmosphere, real log fire plus overhead heaters, needed at this time of the year. Lovely hot tasty soup and granary bread. Good to know too that the ingredients are organic. We had coffee and a read of the papers. What's not to like. Lucky we are locals so can go any time.

Welcome return visit. Plenty of parking, free entry. In the busy season you have to pay to park. The cafe is part of well known Devonian organic cage chain. Can be pricey. Medium coffees are £2.45 which is fair. Busy, plenty of staff on duty. Lovely location, right on the beach. Good clean toilets and souvenir shop on location.

After a great dog walk on Blackpool beach on a sunny morning. A lovely cup of coffee and a seat outside and watch the world go by.

Visited several times before and dropped in a few days ago on a wet, misty, miserable December lunchtime for a basic fish and chip lunch and it's difficult to think how it could have been better. Despite the weather always a lovely beach setting here. Easy parking. Wasn't expecting the huge wood burning open fire place making the large dining... More

Blackpool Sands is a beautiful cove near Dartmouth. It is privately owned and during the summer has a small shop, a hire shop,a great cafe and small charge car park. The whole place is very well-kept and perfect for families. In the summer dogs are banned but in the winter they are allowed as it is very quiet. We took... More

Dear Sir Thank you for your review and for your feedback regarding our policy with dogs in the café area. We have created a dog friendly heated seating area in the Venus beach shop which will be open everyday throughout the winter and we have also decided to allow clean and well behaved dogs into the covered decking area.
