We have had lunch here several times recently and the food has been so good we just keep coming back. It also combines very well with a good dog walk around the estate at Stourhead, anyway that's our excuse. The last couple of visits here I have eaten game, once pheasant breasts and another time a game cobbler, both delicious.... More

We found the Bull Inn by accident on the way back from Stourhead and were really impressed. It's much larger than it first seems as you go into a small bar but then find there are two decent sized dining rooms to one side. Chubby people might struggle as the passageway is quite narrow. Great selection of roasts as well... More

Just back from a visit to The Bull. Having done a long 8 mile walk intentionally designed to finish at the pub, we were not disappointed. Quite simply it was the most delicious roast beef that I've ever had. Very generous helping, nothing too much trouble (one of our group who joined us at the pub was a bit late... More

Had a wonderful meal with friends at this little pub last month when we were staying in Bruton. I know its reputation for excellent food goes back 40 years at least (my husband did a stint working the bar there way back then) and now with the current ownership the standard is still high. A great blackboard menu to choose... More

We thought we would try the pub food as we had visited a few weeks before for a drink and found it had a lovely atmosphere. We weren't disappointed, the food was of an excellent standard.I had the seafood lasagne and husband had the curry. Both were of good portion size and reasonably priced. There were lots of other people eating and all their... I had the best roast beef with Yorkshire pudding followed by rhubarb crumble on Sunday. Really delicious! Lovely room and when I commented that the view of fields from the window could only be improved by a few grazing cows the cows duly appeared over the hill. Thank you Martin.

When in Bruton and you want one of the best traditional Sunday lunches than look no further than The Bull at Hardway.Excellent value for money and a great choice of Beef or Lamb +normal menu at £12 ahead. The pretty beamed restaurant and extention were full so its a 'must' to book. Even the bar was very busy which always speaks... More

Visited the Bull Inn whilst camping nearby last week - quiet but received a friendly welcome. Food and drink really good and sat in their lovely garden watching the sun set on a warm sunny evening. Well worth the visit if you are not close by - close to Bruton and Wincanton
