Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Recently went here for food. I believe it’s a 3 food hygiene rating, I’d be curious to know if storing high chairs in their disabled and baby change toilet is legal even? The staff were nice, the place had a nice feel, the food was...average. But I was mortified to find the baby chairs were kept in the toilet facilities. The same facilities that didn’t even offer a nappy/sanitary bin when it was for baby changing? The high chairs are leant up against where the changing table is so with a baby in one hand I had to physically move the high chairs out of the way. I’m sure they can do better than this, no thought for the hygiene for babies using their chairs nor the parents having to fight their wat to the changing table.More

This is a very busy little pub/restaurant and with good reason. the food is first class,. The service is extremely friendly. As soon as you arrive, there's a sense of community and as a visitor you are made to feel that you also belong. I...don't feel that "The Hobby Horse" needs ANY more accolades from me but I have to give credit where it's due. Top place for food, great atmosphere, lovely staff, reasonable pricing and an overall wonderful experience. We'll definitely be going back - can't shout about it enough (in a great way!). Quirky local pub amongst terrace houses, with a small bar and separate restaurant. We visited for Sunday lunch, which is not easy to get right, but we weren't disappointed. Very good quality meat and vegetables, all freshly prepared and interesting desserts to follow. Friendly, efficient...service and a reasonable bill means we'll definitely visit again.More

We have recently found the hobby horse this year. We were told that they hired a new chef and boy is the food good. We’ve been there for lunch a couple of times and the food is always on point. I would suggest you make...reservations as it gets full really quick. There’s a wide variety of food on the menu to taste and enjoy. On this day We had burgers and chips. As you can see they were delicious. I would definitely recommend.More

Just the other evening myself and my wife went to the hobby horse to quietly celebrate her birthday . On arrival the pub was very busy. We went to the bar area and informed the staff that we had booked a table for 20:00. We...ordered drinks at the bar and shown to our table. The waitress was very polite and helpful and gave us our menus. We both ordered soup of the day ( leek & potato), my wife had the gammon for her mains and I had the hobby burger. The soup was very tasty with a hot bread roll and butter. Our mains were huge in quantity and plentiful . My wife had the Belgian waffle with ice cream which she enjoyed. We had a friendly conversation with the owner( Emma)? And we were made to feel very welcome . The total cost with 2 large glasses of rose wine and 2 pints of lager came to a very reasonable £60.00. On reflection we would definitely come back again in the near future. Overall I would rate the total experience a very good 8.5 out of 10. Well done .More
