Popped in here on a wet rainy Monday afternoon for a late lunch. Didn't expect much but it was fantastic. We were met and served by Allan who kept us entertained and provided brilliant service.We had 2 daily main meals from the value lunch menu and we couldn't fault it, I had a Cheeseburger and fries and my boyfriend had Fish and Chips and upgraded to Haddock, it was amazing, best fish and chips he's tasted, but the shock was the price, how do they do it so cheap? £10.98 for 2 mains? Didn't have time to stop for pudding, but we will for sure be back and we hope Allan serves us again. Well done everyone, 5 stars

We stayed at the Premier Inn next door and used this pub for our meals and breakfast. Unbelievably cheap 8 adults and 3 children all having quite a few drinks main meals and pudding on an evening over the bank Holiday just over £200. Staff were great and food was good
Would highly recommend and would come again. The breakfast was £8 and unlimited and kids ate free.

Had a meal here with family last Sunday. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially Hendra who was our server. The beef roast dinner was lovely and a really generous portion for the price! The wife really enjoyed her fish shop platter too and the baby loved her sausage and mash. We all had a good time and will definitely be coming again!

Booked a table for my son's birthday for 4.30, we talked to waiter service for 90mins and was told it was being trayed up for delivery........however 30 mins no sign and we decided enough was enough and called it quits and walked out, terrible service under staffed thanks for ruining my son's birthday meal. Absolutley terrible menu choice for the function room and staff was very rude and we will definetley not be coming back under any circumstance!!

My partner and I always go for lunch on Thursdays. This week, with our favourite cafe closed for a holiday, we went to the Ashbridge ‘Table Table’ in Cwmbran.
Never again.
After quite a long wait, the food arrived barely luke warm; we complained. The waiter said, ‘Well I don’t cook it’ before shrugging and walking off with a giggle. A supposedly senior member of staff said she would take it away and return freshly-cooked meals in 7 minutes maximum.
We waited.
She didn’t.
We left.

Myself, My Husband Stephen John Cree Bailey and our mate Mark visited The Ashbridge recently and we as always were greeted in a warm and friendly manner and were directed to our usual table and then our server Rob was very friendly and courteous and would regularly pop by our table to ensure everything was okay with our meals. We are also regular customers as we attend every week. We would highly recommend the Ashbridge and all the staff for their warm and friendly manner.

I am staying in the premier Inn next door and had a great deal through the hotel. Main with a start or dessert for £8 and if you wanted to add an extra course of dessert it was only £2 extra. I am travel for business and had the lovely company of Rob that serviced me. Very friendly face and The food was 10/10. Will definitely be stopping here again if travelling through South Wales again.

Lovely meal as per usual. Our waiter Rob was fab, very attentive, chatty and made me feel at ease over the mess by 8 month old was making with his food.
Food was prompt. My vegan meal was delicious.

This particular visit wasn't a good one. It would seem its hit and miss every time we visit here and while the food always tastes good it's either missing something, luke warm or just plain wrong. In this case it was the service which took 25 minutes to be served by which point we was waiting almost an hour for our food which came in warm instead of hot and although the order was spot on I feel it could of been hotter and quicker given the place was only at about 20 percent capacity. But by far the biggest insult was ordering a child's ice cream at 99p and and adult one at 2.49 and both were exactly the same size but presented in different bowls. I would expect this at a plastic fast food chain but not here.
Staff, as always are a delight and super friendly, place is clean and the cutlery is actually washed unlike another certain gastro pub not far away.
Hasn't put us off visiting the ashbridge but we'll probably come when it's not so busy

We have been visiting The Ashbridge more and more. The one thing that always happens is we have fantastic service from Anthony. He really should be given an award and shows everyone how it should be done. Brilliant! We visited for the day special of two meals for £8.99 at about 5pm, which is an unreal deal for later afternoon food! Good portions and nice choices. We had fish & chips and smothered chicken and chips. Yummy proper onion rings were delicious. The service from the kitchen was quick, and Anthony is always friendly and attentive and never needs a notepad. He’s like a service superhero!
We’ll be back again soon!

Visited the Ashbridge this morning,our first visit since lockdown. I wouldn't say we are regulars but we do visit probably once every 2-3 months, usually during half terms and school holidays as the kids eat free with every adult breakfast, which is fab. We were so impressed by the set up, hand sanitiser available, tables were spaced well apart and the staff were thoroughly cleaning after people left their tables,it felt really safe. The service is always very good, but i have to say with all the changes due to Covid they were particularly attentive this morning. Hendra and Anthony made us feel extra welcome and couldn't do enough for us. Highly recommend the Ashbridge, if you are looking for somewhere to catch up with the family this is the place to go. Thank you for a lovely morning!

Came here for a date and the service shown by the staff was exemplary. We were served by a gentleman called Rob whose friendly attitude and professionalism was amazing. I ordered a mixed grill and my date ordered the gammon and the food arrived very quickly and tasted absolutely delicious. We then were served drinks by two of the waitresses for the rest of the evening and they were just as polite and helpful as the first waiter. Will definitely be coming back again in the future!

A charming quiet family oriented restaurant, wonderful staff and decent food. We were staying next door at the Premier inn and decided to book a table here
Upon entry we were greeted and seated immediately and asked about any allergies we might have(which i do have a dairy intolerance)
So they gave me a allergy menu which allowed me to check if anything I wanted contained dairy.
A superb touch as no ever restaurant has ever asked about dietary restrictions so points there.
Food was good. Enjoyed it alot and the place was very cleaned.
My only gripes were that my drink smelled and tasted stagnant or maybe id forgotten how bad carlsberg is. Every other drink was ok and the waitress served my partner the wrong drink.
All round friendly place and will definitely go back

I love coming here with my daughter as its super lovely to us. The layout is huge and they've dealt extremely well with the Covid restrictions.
I've had one or two minor issues with the food in the past but it's always been remedied and I've thoroughly enjoyed my visits.
Every time I come in the staff are always so friendly, and one in particular is my favourite, Allan. He makes me and my daughter feel so welcome and is so friendly with nothing being too much trouble. He will always stop for a quick chat which is lovely and personal as everything nowadays feels so rushed. He's a credit to the company and one of the reasons I continue to return. He will be very much sadly missed when he goes and I just hope you have someone lined up as a replacement who has even an ounce of the personality he has!
Keep up the good work as even though it may have been quiet recently this is one of the only places like this up this end of Cwmbran and is very much needed!
