Was told by a member of staff that I could keep my bike in their secure storage for the evening. Upon closing (11pm) was told that I couldn't get it back as the key holder had gone out, and that I'd have to wait till 3am. After much pleading and asking if I could then stay in the pub till... More

It has a really nice mid 20th century feel to it.(minus smokers of course!) as there are two cosy bar rooms to choose from. A very good ale selection plus lovely snacks I recommend the bacon baguette.

The Ship is a real shock to the system for anyone used to the sanitized corporate pubs we've become accustomed to and long may it stay that way !!!! A proper homely pub with Wilton on the floor, brass ornaments adorning the walls, collection of pint pots hanging from the ceilings -exactly as it was 40 years ago. Along with a great... More

Nice little pub that can have an atmosphere with only a few people. People normally go there for the beer that must be the cheapest in the area. They even had mild at £2 something a pint. They do fairly basic food ( they do no serve brown bread ). We cannot comment on the hot food but prices looked... More

A real favourite of mine - a little gem serving the best cider (Addlestones Cloudy) and with excellent lunch time food 12-2, and toasties in the evening Mon-Sat. The public bar entrance is wheelchair accessible. Full of real characters, nautical memorabilia and with a tremendous atmosphere. Very crowded most lunchtimes, until about 1.30, and early evenings from c 5-6.30. I... More

Not really spit and sawdust, but the nearest you could get in a very traditional pub. Its my local full of sea-related memorabilia, and people to match - no other pub comes up to this mark for miles - great value food is lunchtimes only, not sun, well worth a visit for real locals and great cider!

I have used this place for many years. It is a traditional pub filled with naval bric-a-brac, and often crammed. It can be noisy then. The staff are shall we say, old school, the place is crammed with character, just on the edge of a village shopping centre, and not far from either the station of the cricket green. Its... More
