Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a fish dish with vegetables, way too much salt and the fish was overcooked. The curry was OK and the soup was full of small bones and very salty. Service wasn't flash either

Snapper did not have fresh aroma and it was very overcooked. Rest of the items were bland. Beer was properly chilled.

Recommended by a few people and on my sixth visit to Kingston, I finally paid a visit. Had a really warm welcome by the waiter and took a seat upstairs. Our food came and the curried prawns, curried fish and bammy cakes all arrived in...good time. The flavours were great and all of the food was lovely. Great place to chill out and just gutted that no lobster was available. I will be back .More

This review is for Gloria’s in town, when you drive into Port Royal it’s on the first road on your left. The seafood is great here, we loved our brown stew fish, and my son had great jerk chicken. Seating on the 2nd floor deck...is nice, with breezy views of the sea to the south. Problematic was the long wait for food, an hour and 5 minutes between ordering and receiving our food. Not sure if they have staffing issues, but I noticed a lot of people are picking up take out downstairs. That’s a testament on how good the food is here (and we brought back home fish for our Jamaican relative who though it was great!), but they either need more kitchen staff, or prioritize restaurant clients. Hope they can resolve that as the food is truly great.More

Been dining at Glorias since the 80s. The quality of the food has declined somewhat. I think , I like many people, dine here because it's Port Royal. The fish doesnt taste as good the way it used to. Esp the steam fish. Not sure...if its imported fish The presentation has fallen off a bit too. The wait is long (as usual)More

The food is fantastic, there is no disputing that, but it takes too long for your order to arrive. If you go to Gloria’s, i fee like you need to have food because your gonna be waiting for hours. This is the only issue I...have with the restaurant, other than that, I love thee food.More

Poor customer service (didn’t feel welcome), taste of food was poor (am not a chef but I could have done a better job), not to mention the 10 small shrimp for 2600 + taxes for the shrimp dish. It’s wasn’t a good experience wont be...going back.More

Sat for over half hour without acknowledgement. Had to shout to the "waitress" not to take the order of a couple who arrived half hour after us. The "waitress is currently sitting with her back to the restaurant!! I'm here wanting an appetizer and her...back is to me... I guess it's back to shouting.More

Extremely slow service, the staff had no interest in making customers happy. The order was wrong and we had to wait for it for 2hrs!! The fish was over fried - impossible to eat. Basically, everything was wrong. Not a nice experience, wouldn’t come back.

Well Good Day , Horrible I decide that I wanted to enjoy a decent steam fish so I went to Port Royal . My Family and I went to the one on 5th Queens street at first, where we received the most horrible service ever....We were down stairs for a while watching some foreigners under the tent receiving assistance from staff which is ok ... but no one came to acknowledge us, we then made our way upstairs where there were some empty tables which Had a plethora of dirty plates on them . No one took the initiative to clean them off. I get that It might have been a busy night but we stood there for a good twenty minutes waiting for some one to come to our assistance and no one came .. I went down stairs to see if some one was free to assist us but all I was told is that “someone is coming” No OnE Came . Great After getting annoyed of waiting, I then decided to stop by the other Glorias in the area where I was greeted by a hospitable man called Theo (a brown fellow ) I really don’t Remember his name. He ensured that our Mask was on and that our hands were sanitized . We went upstairs and sat and shortly after a staff came to assist us . We got our meal and it was superb. Thumbs up to chef of the night of August 2, 2020 . I work in the Hospitality field for over several years now and I have always inform guest that all Glorias are great but after what I have experienced I would never recommend the Glorias on 5th Queens Street. Remember first impression last and even if I don’t have an accent I am still a guest u don’t know who u might allow to walk out bcz of failure to give exceptional customers service. DKHMore
