Went for lunch with my wife on a Friday right at the opening time of 11.30AM. The service was friendly, and the wait was not bad. Enjoyed a rum Manhattan while waiting. The food (red snapper and fried beef with rice and beans) was basically simple fresh ingredients cooked the way they are supposed to. Very tasty, as was the... More

Based on reviews, I was worried we'd be waiting hours for a table and we were hungry. Not so! We arrived for lunch and were promptly seated. The server was delightful, although the smile on her face was seemingly pasted there. The food was mostly excellent, it varied from dish to dish, so not consistent. Prices were mostly reasonable. Tiny... More

The food is absolutely mediocre, but getting it is very challenging given the stellar reputation it - somehow - maintains. Seriously, if you want rice, beans, plantains and a protein, you could find a million average places nearby for less money. For a celeb chef that demands a crazy line forming at 5:30pm for dinner, I expected more creativity. Alas,... More

This was our 3rd time dining at this restaurant. It is a small restaurant in the neighborhood of La Placita. They don't take reservations, but the wait is worth it. Enjoy a cocktail while waiting. Marissa at the bar will take great care of you with suggestions of delicious local drinks. Fruit juices are all freshly squeezed. José Enrique was... More

Firstly my top tip is that while the restaurant does not take bookings, they start adding names to their list at 6pm - before the restaurant opens at 630pm. By 630pm there was quite a crowd outside (on a Friday night in any case) so if your name was not on the list from 6pm you're unlikely to get seated... More

absolutely horrible service - we went early to get on the list for a table for 10 people. the hostess told us 2 hours so we went to grab a drink frequently checking in. after 2.5 hours we waited in front if the restaurant and were repeatedly ensured that the table was getting ready. after 3 hours we were only... Really disappointed in this place. The owner Jose Enrique came out after 4 hours to apologize about the 3.5 hour wait to say sorry for the wait and horrible service. He was condescending and his food was average at best. Totally did not appreciate the service who kept making up times they would seat us. Wondering why we were stupid... More

we believe the ego of the chef (Jose Enrique) actually hurts this place. He and his staff need a customer service lesson and the food quality does not match the price. Rude staff and average food! We tried 3 separate occasions and can not comprehend the hype

Wings, cheese fritters, pork with mamposteao. The options are endless and exquisite! Must eat here! We visit Jose Enrique as often as we can, my fave restaurant.
