Surprise find! Great patio by the shore. A bit of slow service but cordial and welcoming. Will come again for the crab rice with beans.

I highly recommend the rest. food is outstanding service is excellent and the prices are reasonable. I live in Cayey and I often like to visit the rest for a good meal. You know it good when you have local in a rest.

Plain and simple: Nice view, with the Caribbean sea singing to you Literally. Good food at affordable prices. I ordered Chillo relleno de Langosta...and the portion was huge. Tostones de Mapén and Arriz con Juelles: delicious.

After a long day spent on Gilligan's Island, we stopped at Monserrate for for dinner. When we arrived only one couple was present. This is usually a bad sign. But we stayed the coarse and sat down at the waters edge. What a terrific view. The ocean, the sounds of waves breaking on the reef, and giant Tarpon splashing below..... More

Why not take a nice ride to La Parguera, or Jotyudas, or Guanajibo for the best seafood in the area? Why staying in Ponce for sea food? Please, don't!

After leaving San Juan, we headed south to Ponce to see the rest of the island. I was looking forward to the REAL conch salad that I hadn't had in over 30 years and La Monserrate delivered. My husband had fried shrimp and we both had fried plantains. We chose to sit outside since the weather was nice. Our table... More

The owner greeted us personally. We overlooked the ocean as the day was coming to an end. The food was most delicious, it was hard to leave and go back to the hotel. What an amazing deck with amazing food service and setting. The tarpon were swimming below (6 of them) looking for a hand out, which we gladly gave... More

The restaurant is very comfortable. It is a two floor building with option to ocean front tables. Service was fine. Bread with garlic is included with the meal as well as the gratuities (tips). Just a little note about the parking, is in the main route #2 which is not safe to exit. No music playing. Wifi. Two main dishes,... More

If, as they say, the best thing that Ponce has is the road sign that points in the direction of San Juan, then at the other end (El Tuque) La Monserrate is one of the best things coming into Ponce. It is strange, but I've been here several times and although the place doesn't impress either going in or even... More

The only thing good was the view and the service. The food was terrible, the sea food was not fresh the octopus was rotten, the lobster wasn't fresh, the fish was no good either. A very unfortunate dinning experience.
