Had dinner here twice. Very good food with good (although small) variety of options. Great cocktails. Wine list reasonable, but relatively limited. Desserts and service were excellent!

This restaurant came highly recommended and lived up to expectations. If you think chocolate-infused foie gras or mashed potatoes are a non starter think again. Good drinks and service a plus. Not haute cuisine but very enjoyable.

Stopped in for lunch as part of our Bean to Bar tour. Food was excellent. I had the burger on chocolate infused bun and my wife had the Chicken Roti. Desert was phenomenal. Chocolate mousse was superb and the magnificent Piton was also yummy. Nice view of the Pitons from the dining room. Most menu items are chocolate infused or... More

A definitely up-market place for a meal, with magnificent views over the Petit Piton, in a large open area covered by a wide roof which gave a sense of space, of being among the greenery, cooled by a gentle breeze and yet sheltered from the frequent showers. There were relatively few patrons for lunch on a Monday mid-day. The menu... More

We visited Boucan Restaurant on a Friday night, during our stay in St. Lucia - we stayed at Sugar Beach Resort. We wanted to see the sunset - so we had reservations for 6pm. The dining area was appointed well, however if you're my height (5'3") and you sit on the far side - the half wall/fence obstructs your view... More

Mainly I wanted to go here for the chocolate desserts. I didn't realize that all the course options would have some sort of cacao flavor or chocolate in it. Even the spinach soup had a hint of cacao flavor. All of it was good but by the end of it, I was a bit over the chocolate flavor and I... More

We booked dinner for 2 based on TripAdvisor reviews and my love of hotel chocolat chocolate. Setting and ambience: Cool and relaxed. Wooden, contemporary furniture. Felt upmarket but not fussy. Drinks: Perfect. Mocktails original flavours and exciting to taste (chocolate and banana; pineapple and banana pina colada). Berry brothers wine from U.K. Food: Unfortunately missed the mark. Homemade bread lovely... More

Dinner here was a great experience. The service was excellent. The setting is both modern and rustic Caribbean. The view of the pitons is great, although not as good as at Dasheene/Ladera across the street (you cannot see the water). The creative use of chocolate in the dishes, both sweet and savory was unique. I would eat here again and... More

The restaurant is on the same road and close to the Sulphur Springs and Set Paul trail. The restaurant has magnificent views to the Pitons and the food including several chocolate themed dishes is excellent.

Description
Perched high up between the Piton mountains, The Boucan Restaraunt is open to both residents and non residents. Boucan is The Hotel Chocolat’s own restaurant, where guests can experience Cacao Cuisine. The word “Boucan” refers to the traditional West Indian name for a cocoa drying facility. The restaurant is built on the site of the Rabot Estate’s original Boucan. Boucan is also linked to “boucaneer” or “buccaneer,” the local pirates that would smoke and dry their food to preserve it for long trips at sea. The Boucan offers a strong connection with cacao and chocolate. For over 3,000 years, cacao has been used as a savory ingredient and for 500 as a sweet ingredient. The menu explores both, with the chefs taking their inspiration from the fresh cacao growing all around the estate, together with amazing local fish and seafood, salad leaves, vegetables and plentiful fruit. However the cuisine is far from cocoa heavy. The menu often makes use of cacao as a light, subtle spice or as an infusion. The desserts make full and imaginative use of the estate cacao, with each evening meal rounded off with the day’s new chocolate creation. Boucan’s breathtaking minimalist design includes a soaring roof inspired by the shape of the cacao tree, with its branches reaching to the sky, and shaded by the lush rainforest canopy. Its high platform is a centre stage for the Big Nature views all around.Dining at the Hotel Chocolat's Boucan Restaurant, whether it be breakfast, lunch, dinner or the fabulous sundowner cocktails, is an experience to be shared and cherished. We passionately believe we are certainly offering something very different at Boucan. The dress code is smart/casual and ladies a cocktail dress is never out of place!
