We visited on a Friday night and was definitely the local hang out spot. The drinks were cheap but they dont serve food in the night so eat before you get there.

We ate cod fish and ache. My Father was born in Creek.Which added a special touch. This restaurant was just down the road where he lived. Beautiful scenery.

I hate to speak ill of anywhere, but the service was more of a grunt and point kind of deal with no real communication. The food was way over cooked and spiced beyond being edible. The menu was jerked chicken with bread. Be careful of the split bones

I live on Cayman Brac now (love it) but had visited for years before settling here. La Esperanza (known locally as Bussey's) is about the last place you'd spend your Caribbean vacation. Rooms are sub-standard (even for a small island), food is mediocre typical Caymanian, bottom of the list for dining, Bar on the weekends is ear bleeding loud, filthy... More

Our hotel recommended La Esperanza when we asked about a good place on the northeast side of the island. They might as well have said there was nothing there. This may have been a local Caymanian adventure, but it was a poor meal, and trying to navigate the weirdness of it was slightly traumatic. We were glad to leave and... More

Somewhere along the way La Esperanza has taken a turn for the worse. Stopped by for some jerk chicken, which was not what it used to be, and decided to eat it at their sea-side bar and have a couple of drinks. There were few people joining my husband and myself, but they were all very drunk and very obnoxious... More

We were told this was the place to go for the best jerk chicken on the island on a Friday and Saturday night. Went along on Saturday, but nothing happening - not a jerk chicken in sight! Presume these things only happen in high season, shame when the choice for eating out is limited on the island at any time.

We visited this establishment towards the end of our stay and wish we had gone sooner, so that we could have gone a few more times. A great locale -- right on the shore -- with views of the ocean and up and down the shoreline; breaking waves right nearby add to the ambience. We got to chat with a... More

La Esperanza is a favorite with locals. Friday night's jerked chicken is excellent and you can eat in or take it out.

Stopped in for some apps and a few drinks here, a handfull of locals and us were it while we were here. We tried to tell the bartender what we wanted, just some apps with drinks and she did not really understand so she tried to explain to the cook and he had a hard time understanding too so I... More
