My family and I have been eating at La Tapa for years. Chef Alex does an amazing job of putting together a different menu each and every night. While the main proteins may not change everyday, the preparation does, and they're always delicious. Some nights...More

We ended up at LaTapa when Extra Virgin was booked up, but I'm glad we did. Our dishes were all extraordinary, the service was very good, and the price was fair. Would definitely come back next time we are there.

Every dish original, flavors well balanced, even deserts great. Best upper end restaurant on island.

Have been to St. John probably 12 times and this is the first time we ate at LaTapa. WOW is all I can say. Food was really good, nice location right in Cruz Bay. Fish was super fresh. We had the Mahi Mahi and Wahoo....More

La Tapa offers a fresh, creative changing menu. We usually eat there twice. If they have tuna or wahoo tartare, be sure to order it. It's fun to order a variety of small plates and a bottle of wine. The service is very good.

What a excellent meal shared with old friends and new friends. Buy a piece of pottery, too. The anti pasta was fresh and delicious. Our shared salads were tasty. The main courses were superb. I highly recommend families to participate. Last Pottery Night is March...More

Wow, what an excellent meal. We know the chef, Patrick, and ordered the "chef's special" which meant that he chose what to cook for us (at least that's what we called it - there is no such item on the menu). It was plate after...More

I love the open air feel, but the food is really, really good! The service is pretty good, too. I'll be back.

La Tapa is always welcoming and comfortable. Food is dependably good. Service is usually excellent and the menu is somewhat extensive ( for St. John) and creative. The drinks are great- even the iced tea! This is a popular St. John restaurant. A reservation is...More

Stand by my review 100%. Worst value in St John. No I haven't had too much sun, I went for dinner and was disappointed. If you went and had a different experience that's great.

I'm sure you can find something gluten-free. Most of their seafood small plates would be gluten free. The homemade mozzarella, the salad. Etc. and they are very nice so if you call ahead in sure they can help you.
