Living in the UK has given great access to the Greek Islands for holidays over the years, and I guess that you become spoiled. One of the delicacies I was introduced to was the infamous Gyros, a fried Greek pitta bread with spices and with salad, tzatziki, french fries and marinated hand carved kebab style meat. I have never had... More

I have eaten here many, many times over the years. What can I say other than fantastic Greek and Bahamian food. Flaming Saganaki is off the chain... service is spot on, location and view of downtown unbeatable. Family run since it opened by Greek Bahamians, this is must do if you like Mediterranean food.

We stumbled on Athena Cafe while doing a mini "bar crawl" several years ago in Nassau. We got to meet the Owner and his son who is married to a former Miss Bahamas. Mr. "Oupa" was very nice and treated us to some authentic Greek shots of something that almost made us miss our ship. lol The next time we... More

Excellent Greek food in the heart of Downtown Nassau. Friendly staff and good service. The prices are reasonable and there's a huge selection to choose from.

Right in the heart of the tourist traps. It's upstairs; decent food. Not a cheap lunch. The usual Greek fare. the hummas and pitas were excellent. The music was too loud, as we found in every restaurant except Luciano's.

We enjoyed the flaming saganaki. While many think the flaming party is only for show, for us it puts the perfect taste on the cheese. We had the lamb gyros and were very satisfied. A lot of food. Our waitress was authentic and we enjoyed the atmosphere of being right downtown but slightly removed from the craziness. The place is... More

I'd ordered the grilled octopus salad and that was very good. I was disappointed with their rendition of fried conch. I was expecting the typical conch strips in a light coating. Instead, it was mince prices fried up in a doughy ball. My lunch companion had the grouper and shared some with me. It was very good also.

Located in the heart of downtown Bay Street, Athena cafe offers the authentic greek cuisine with a Bahamian flare. Not only you can find the traditional greek favorites here but also Bahamian delicacies such as conch, snapper, grouper and lobster! We are a true, family operated business that want everyone to feel like family as soon as they enter. Have a choice to sit at our cosy bar, our air conditioned dining room or the lively verandah.
