The Grilled Octopus is delicious. I loved it! I have tried it 4 or 5 times and it is always good. Try the lemonades specially passion fruit one. The service is very good.

Not vegetarian friendly and not Greek at all. It seems this place is managed by a control freak (Mr Keith?), who doesn’t allow the waiters take the orders and get the bills, so be prepared to wait! Food wise is also terrible, even stating I’m...a vegetarian I got a plate full of pork sausages that they were reluctant to remove from my plate. I ended up getting a couple of greasy fried eggs/potatoes, served with a slice of stale white bread. I didn’t get any apology but instead taxes, service charge and tips charged on my nearly $20 bill!More
Nassau was a cruise stop for us over Christmas and, ready for something other than cruise ship buffet food, we walked around town until we stumbled across this place. Online reviews suggested it was worth a try and so we stepped on in. We easily...secured a table outside on the upper balcony and service was quick and friendly enough (note that this was the morning of Junkanoo, so I think staff had come straight from partying!). Drinks was served immediately and our food didn’t take much longer to come out. Meals were small but incredibly fresh and my husband commented, “This is the best pita I’ve ever had! And oh my! the sauce!!” He was loving it! I had requested no olives in my salad (I simply don’t like them) and I was very impressed when the manager (?) / owner (?) was the one to actually bring out our meals, and in doing so asked if I was okay with their homemade dressing, as it was olive-based. So if you have any allergies, you will be well taken care of here! As others have commented, the food is definitely on the pricier side, but we enjoyed the atmosphere overlooking the street — a live busker below, remnants of Junkanoo still passing through, and a great place to people watch! At the end of our meal, we had a wonderful chat with two of the young wait staff who shared with us more about the history of Junkanoo and this celebration of life here in The Bahamas.More
We had a great lunch and our waitstaff, Heather was a ray of sunshine! Good location, lots of things to choose from, the gyro’s and the Grouper were excellent. Hamburgers were yummy too. We will definitely go back!
Great food, lackluster service. We were excited to dine here. Seated immediately outside. Gave our order, food arrived about 20 min later, drinks never arrived. Server never checked back in. First line says it all.
Went to lunch at Athena Cafe today and cannot believe what I have been missing out on for years. Nothing fancy, but simple, delicious Greek food served promptly and with warm, attentive service. My daughter and I agreed that there was something special about the...hummus and warm pita bread we shared for a starter, with a lovely smooth texture and great flavour; even the single olive on top was particularly good. This was quickly followed by a juicy, generous lamb burger which hit the spot perfectly. My daughter’s lamb gyro looked great too. Both accompanied by perfect potato wedges which the menu said were fried, but were so un-greasy and delicious that I thought they were baked. This will now be my go-to place for lunch when in downtown Nassau.More
Came upon the Greek restaurant in Nassau , Bahamas. Found at Bay and Charlotte streets on the secondary on the second floor. We just wanted a drink at the bar and they sat us quickly. We met the owner, George Mousis. Very gracious and fun...to talk to. The place had aromas of Greek cuisine drifting out on to the streets. The place was full of patrons. It’s an odd thing to endings in wonderful Greek food in the middle of Nassau. I recommend you stopping in and enjoy eating real Greek food in the Bahamas.More
Good and attentive service, food is tasty but overpriced for some dishes! I understand this is Bahamas everything is imported but tzatziki which is a starter to cost 14$ that’s too much in Greece you can buy three of them for that price same with...gyros $17 this is street food in Greece and cheapest you can eat there!More
Athena was the right place for a delicious lunch on a cruise ship stop over. I asked my friend on the cruise where she goes for lunch when in port and she recommended Athena. Service was perfect, drinks generous, and the food really fresh and...flavorful, greek with a Bahamian flair. An overall memorable experience..More
Absolutely perfect. The food is amazing, the service is perfect and the outside porch is a great place to people watch. The saganaki is spectacular and the gyros are the best. The Godfather is a great host.
Wow, the food here is amazing. The people who work there are lovely. And the owner has a passion for food.
Very tasty! I got the Greek burger . The people very gentil. Good prices . We have a great lunch in Athena cafe
This was the best meal of our trip! Prices were reasonable for the incredible food quality. I had a chicken gyro and my boyfriend had a lamb gyro and octopus appetizer. Everything was delicious. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and gave us good recommendations for...our trip. You will not regret your visit to Athena Cafe!More
Fabulous food ! Had the melinzanosalato. It was ti die for. Also, the pita bread was out of this world! Island Berry martini wasn't too shabby either! 😊
Terrific gyros, wonderful spanakopita. The location downtown near the straw market made it ideal. The only downside was the open pressure by the waiter to tip above the mandatory 15% which was already included. This was uncomfortable and left a bad impression at the end...of the meal.More
