This was not our first trip to the island but by far the best! My husband and I arrived in Nassau on May 5! We arrived at our bungalow on Love Beach (Airbnb Beachnbarefoot…. Must check it out!) at noonish. Upon arrival the bungalow and...view were pristine. Our Airbnb hostess Sanchia recommended a small beach bar which was a 5 minute walk down the beach. Make note that this part of the island is quiet and secluded. After unpacking we made the 5 minute walk across the white sand to NIRVANA Beach Bar. We were greeted by the friendly faces of Louie and Stacia. We ordered the Bahama Mama and Kalik Lite. We turned around to take in the breathtaking view while listening to piped in island music. The vibes are islandy and laid back. Monique cooked us up some much awaited Conch Fritter (very conchy)! To DIE for! We were on the island for 6 days and spent most of them at Nirvana or at least visited for awhile before catching a very convenient taxi into town. After a week being here we ate everything on the menu and we do not have a complaint about a single dish! We would venture to say that Louie and Stacia make the BEST Pina Colada and Island Daiquiri on all of Nassau! We would like to thank the owner (as well as the island’s magistrate!!) Michelle Munnings for making us honorary citizens of Nassau and treating us as family!!! If you’re looking for a place that truly operates on “island time” and want a relaxing time … Nirvana is your spot! They also offer chair rental, snorkel rental, paddle board rentals. The beach in front of Nirvana is the absolute best for snorkeling! And the view from your bar seat never gets old. However, changes by the minute. …tell them Cody and Kelly said hello and we will be back soon!More

The food and service was overall great. The lady at the front who accepts the payment was extremely rude and acted like we were bothering her while we were just asking questions about the history of the location. My interaction with her was terrible, but...the other staff redeemed the place in my eyes.More

Over- rated for sure. This is NOT a 4/5- we originally came here to be able to go to the beach, hopefully with some outside tables located by the beach each lunch and have some drinks- this is not the place. You have to pay...$5 a person to enter Nirvana- spending $45 for a family to go to the beach before you even sit down for lunch is outrageous. We ended up going as we were there already- we went on a Sunday late afternoon- no cruise ship patrons- and ordered drinks- the place is very- well different- part beachy vibe- part dumpy- and I think the money turned us off- but we stayed at the beach had drinks and enjoyed our stay. I will review Love Beach as well- as this is the beach you actually pay for when going to Nirvana- chairs to rent are $7 a piece.More

Our favorite beach visit during our 5 day stay on New Providence Island. We paid $5 per person to enter. You can rent chairs and umbrellas but there was plenty of shade so we were fine with just our beach blanket. The beach is perfect...- soft clean sand, gentle waves, and a reef just off shore where people were snorkeling. It was not at all crowded and had a nice relaxed vibe. There were showers for rinsing off and clean bathrooms. We had a yummy lunch and drinks and sat on the deck with a beautiful view. If you’re looking for a comfortable, low key spot to spend a day at a beautiful beach, we would highly recommend Nirvana.More

This place was HORRID!!!. We were told they had free WiFi , accepted credit cards had live music and food. Yeah literally none of that. If you ask to buy a bottle of water be prepared for an eye roll and not a thank you...spoken. Paid over $400 to taxi over for a party of 12 expecting to have a nice enjoyable day on a private beach. Bad bad experience. I won’t ever go backMore

No need for an umbrella, plenty of shade. Rented 2 chairs. Staff would not take a credit card so we went to a supermarket store and brought our own food and drink in as we needed our cash for a cab ride back to ship....Beach is beautiful. No vendors. Front desk person definitely has a chip on her shoulder against blond americans as she was unbelievably rude to me and condescending. We didn't mind the $5 or the chair rentals as we were day cruisers. We did mind the unfriendly borderline racist attitude of front desk woman and man getting the chairs for us. We would have loved to buy food from the place and drink but not with the comments or the attitude. We enjoyed the wifi, bathroom, and showers. We definitely will never return. Not a place for snorkeling, credit cards, or blond Americans. I will spend my money on people who look beyond the surface and give good service. Like our cabbie.More

For this particular review, I'm going to write specifically about the access to Love Beach via Nirvana Beach Bar. Having read the previous reviews, I was prepared to pay $5 per person for my fiancé & I. What I think people don't realize is that...you are not actually paying Nirvana to access to a public beach... you are paying Nirvana to access a public beach through NIRVANA'S PROPERTY. You are free to hike up and down the street to find another access point to Love Beach, and not pay anything - from what I've heard, there are indeed other access points. To my mind, however, Nirvana is located on a fantastic spot on the beach, offers fresh water showers, and clean rest rooms (certainly not upscale, but clean) -all for $5 !!! And if you don't want to pay the $5, I'm pretty sure you're peeing in the ocean...don't do it. Considering we paid $50 each way for a taxi ride between Margaritaville and Love beach, $5 per person is nothing. The lady who greets you at the entrance is Christine. She was nice enough to us, but your own mileage may vary. Christine gave us a little orientation of the property, and we proceeded directly to the beach. TIP: When you get onto the beach... West of Nirvana features more shady spots if you need it, East of Nirvana features better snorkeling opportunities and (for lack of a better term) a little tide pool with very calm, crystal clear water which is great for kids - if they're with you. As for the wifi, I can only say, that we never used it. The beach was so beautiful that we weren't on our phones other than to take pictures. We didn't eat anything because we weren't hungry, but the beers were cold and that was good enough for us. The last thing that I would like to mention is that prior to my visit to ANYWHERE, I make it a point to read the reviews...there's always gems of useful info when you read the details. It is my opinion that the people who are writing negative reviews did not read any of the reviews of Nirvana themselves. If they had indeed read the reviews, they would have had a better understanding of Nirvana's operation before their visit.More

Easy ride on public transportation from port to Nirvana Beach Bar. It took about 55 minutes on a crowded but adequate van and cost $2.50 per person. We were quoted $90 round trip for two in a private bus. The bar itself is quirky and...interesting. It is part bar/beach/restaurant/ museum/music school which makes a unique mix.We paid 5$ per person to stay on the beach as long as we liked with access to a fresh water, outdoor shower, bathrooms, and a glorious beach with natural shade and a fascinating stretch of tide pools. We did not eat or drink anything from the bar. We saw several families eating hamburgers and hot dogs and saw some with bottled beer. The person who took our money was polite but not necessarily friendly. The beach was clean, water clear, and definitely not crowded. Trees provided better than expected shade. The sand was clean and free of human debris. Their shower was sufficient to wash away sand. We did not rent chairs or umbrellas. There is quite a hill from taxi drop-off to front door and from restaurant to beach which could make accessibility a challenge for those with physical challenges. Airplanes flew over approximately every 10 minutes at very low altitude. If you want quiet, this could be an issue but if you enjoy planes, it’s a definite bonus. They fly very low and slow so if that’s your interest, you won’t be disappointed. The rocks make an excellent area for tide pool exploration which could be fascinating to interested adults and young explorers. Our taxi driver gave us his phone number when he dropped us off so we could call for a return ride. This worked perfectly! All in all, this location made a great stop in a port that we don’t typically enjoy so much. Our perspective of Nassau definitely changed because of our positive experience at this location.More

Sadly the last few times we have been the prices for drinks are made up depending on the bartenders thoughts or something. Never the same and always HUGELY overpriced. Disappointing as we are locals who would love to be able to take out family &...friends when they visit. Not worth it when that’s how we are treated.More

This place used to be my favourite place for lunch and a drink, but today I got sent away because I didn't want to pay the 5 USD pp entrance fee (just to have lunch!). The owner got greedy, and instead of finding ways to...add value to make more money (live music, great food...), the guy got a fence installed so he could charge a 5 USD entrance fee to the beach. Who pays 5 USD entrance to have lunch? I am going to Compass Point and Coco Cabana now... better service too.More

Don’t remember seeing any snorkel gear for rent there. As I mentioned in my review there is no telling on their hours. Even their posted hours will change if they feel like leaving early. So not sure about christmas
