We sat inside as all the tables out on the terrace were occupied. Although the café holds a top hygiene rating of ‘5’, when we visited for a light lunch, we found the table tops very sticky, no idea what they had been cleaned with...but you could feel resistance if your clothes came into contact.
The café is located at the farm next door, not at the actual castle. To get there you can walk through the gate at the bottom left of the castle carpark, then walk a couple of hundred yards up the tarmac driveway to the farm or if you have mobility problems there is some limited parking outside the actual café.More

Hello thank you for your review- I’m sorry you found the tables to be sticky unfortunately due to the disinfectant detergent we use, we have recently noticed it is reacting with the paint on our tables and making them sticky! However we are at present...More
Called in here after visiting the castle. I have some mobility issues so was pleased to find they had a small car park. We sat at the rear of the cafe overlooking the fields and both had ham and cheese ploughmans, great chocolate cake and...coffee. Cant fault the food or the service. We spent some time here and thoroughly enjoyed it.More
This was a delightful little walk from the castle to an old farm courtyard, again, helps you to understand how people lived in a different time. The cafe had some very unique and pleasant food. I had a brussel pate plate with crusty bread and...side salad, my husband had a lamb cowl, crusty bread, very delicious both of them with pleasant staff.More
This cafe is in the courtyard of the farm just beyond the castle. You walk past a very intersting old farm house and the cafe is in a converted farm building with most seats outside either in the courtyard and better ones at the back...with an elvated view over fields. We had tasty scones and coffee, but there is a wide menu with lots of choices for lunch.More
We popped in for lunch. It was fun viewing this historic farm house and grounds. We sat outside on the balcony, looking out over the countryside. You are high up here, so you got a great view. We saw a fox. The lunch was fine....Nothing exceptional, but it was all that we needed.More
To start with we sat outside but there were a lot of Wasps about so we had to go inside, which was a little cramped. We ordered coffee & a light meal & given a table number. The coffee arrived but was not what we ordered...but we accepted them as not wanting to cause a fuss, only to find that they were due for another table. Why were we given a table number if they are not followed as this caused the mistake. However the meal arrived which were well presented, hot & tasty.More
Short walk from Castle is the lovely Cafe in a farm courtyard where the old farm buildings have been converted into various small business units.Coffee and food were excellent and staff very friendly.Nice views over countryside from tables at rear of Cafe
