Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

First and last visit on Saturday afternoon. Cafe was busy so expected a short wait but 20 mins for 3 milkshakes - seriously. People ordering well after us all received hot drinks and hot food and waiting staff had plenty of time to stand around...and chat to customers when bringing food out. A lady walked past us returning a few mins later with a tub of ice ream after about 10 mins but completely ignored us, found that quite rude. After 20mins we asked to cancel our order which the staff seemed shocked to hear. Apparently our drinks were actually ready but abandoned in the kitchen. Not really worth the wait so won't be returning.More

Received the wrong order, so raised this twice - no response. Not even an acknowledgment or an apology. So ridiculously rude! Such a shame when businesses consider themselves above customer service. This used to be a lovely little place with a really down-to-earth feel. Sadly,...the more popular they have become, the less they seem to care.More

A very special little cafe/bakehouse with a superb array of food and drink and many interesting clientele both canine and human. But their greatest asset is their team of professionals who exude abundant warmth, efficiency and friendliness. All in all, a treat not to be...missed.More

I popped in here when passing through Whaley bridge as I was starving and fancied a cheese roll. The menu had loads of different in-house options for imaginative fillings, different types of bread etc. Unfortunately for me, all I fancied was a cheese bap (I...am pregnant and suffering with various food aversions). The lady with whom I placed my order advised me that they only had a combination of cheddar and mozzarella to go in my roll, as they have this pre mixed for other things on the menu. I was hesitant but she told me i t was really nice so I ordered. I found the cheese was rubbery and a bit sickly. Had it been just cheddar then there wouldn't have been a problem but it didn't really work with the cold mozzarella. I also ordered a custard slice. This was £3. I was a bit shocked at first at the price, but when I ate it....o my goodness! This was definitely the best custard slice that I have ever tried, if not one of the best cakes ! Very fresh and creamy, large (I wish I had saved half for later!) This is a small business doing a great job of providing a unique offering of fresh cakes and sandwiches. I have only given four stars as I felt that £4 for a cheese bap that had sickly mozzarella cheese in it seemed a little steep. I am sure if I had chosen one of their more lavish filling options it would've felt more worth the price. In total I paid £8 for a cheese roll, a cake and a bag of crispsMore

My husband and I were staying nearby on holiday. We originally popped in for a coffee but their selection of food was incredible. We ended up getting toasties, cakes and coffee. The staff were super friendly and had a good laugh and joke with us....The names of the sandwiches cracked us up. We enjoyed it so much we ended up visiting everyday and we were never let down. The full English inparticular was divine. Would recommend to anyone in the area to visit.More

Discovered the Bridge Bakehouse earlier in the week, their food is to die for. Without a doubt, the best sandwich I've had in years. This coupled with friendly staff and excellent service makes it an absolutely five star eatery. Thank you, we'll be back

There aren’t many places around here to get some nice cakes so it’s a shame they aren’t up the scratch. I had a vanilla slice (custard slice whichever you call it!) and it was awful, I threw it away. It was clearly an old one...as the pastry was WET, the icing on the top clearly started to separate so the water just ran to the bottom. Tasted like it had been ran under the sink. I’ve had a brownie on another occasion and it was just so stale the top half just came apart from the base and was rock hard. I’d only ever go here for drinks now. There’s so much choice for cakes, but just needs the attention to detail it had when it first opened.More

No idea why so highly rated. No indoor seating. You have to sit outside on a main road. Very noisy, no view, just lots of traffic. Hygiene an issue as well. The serving staff filled the slobbery dog bowl in the kitchen, handed it back...to the customer who had asked for it to be filled, then continued serving food! Disgusting. Our sandwiches were ok, nothing special, and the coffee bland. As I say, no idea why there are so many good reviews for this place. A real disappointment to me.More

We went on Sunday morning to grab delicious treats as the reviews on Tripadvisor was amazing. But not sure if it’s because we are of colour that the lady serving us was very unhelpful. We asked what was in one of the deserts, the filling,...what flavour it was. And her response was “ I don’t know, I’ve never tried it” and she just stared at us as if to say don’t ask questions… so service was definitely terrible but the cakes were great. Just don’t ask questions and be quick at deciding and you will be fine.More
