Having searched around and about for a real carvery, this was one of the few pubs that offered one, and thankfully, gets excellent reviews here on Trip Advisor. Well, bouncing off previous reviews, we got there about 1.30 on a sunday lunchtime, expecting it to be too busy to accommodate us (party of four), but not so. A table was... More

Warm friendly traditional pub, serving a lovely wholesome Sunday lunch. Well worth a visit but would advise you book as they seem to get very busy.

Visited today with family including three children. The carvery was delicious... 3 choices of meats and generous servings... Limited choice of veg and trimmings but had everything I would've chosen anyway! Staff very attentive and excellent value for money. Would definitely visit again.

Great little carvery on Sunday lunch times. The staff are friendly and you get a good old lunch for a fair price. Look out though as last time I went it was cash only so be prepared.

It is a year and a half since we visited The George Inn and the Sunday carvery lunch is as excellent now as it was then. A choice of roast beef, pork or turkey served with Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, roast and new potatoes, cabbage, carrots, peas and a very tasty gravy made from the juices of the roasts. Everything is... More

Whilst travelling through the area we chose to divert off the main road to visit the George Inn. The bar area wasn't busy, in fact it was very quiet. The owners made us very welcome and we decided to have lunch, which was from their carvery. The food was fresh, hot, and very enjoyable. We enjoyed it so much that... More

In a nutshell .....Lovely traditional pub with a fantastic home cooked carvery. Small but perfect. Booking is recommended and they only take cash.

called in today after a walk from Ripley, we were greeted by the friendly landlord who found us a table. The food was delicious, and the gravy was the best we've ever tasted. Definitely visit again. Thank you.

This is a real traditional British pub. lovely friendly people. The carvery is really good. The pub is tucked away so some people will miss it but once you have found it and tried the food you will go back.
