Excellent seafood restaurant on the coast. The views are incredible and the food is just as good. I will definitely be returning.

We have been visiting La Sirene for many years and always enjoyed the lunches and dinners we have had there. We were really looking forward to this lunch as we had to cancel due to Covid the last couple of years. The decor has been...up-dated somewhat which is nice - but what makes it special is of course the food - and also the fabulous sea views. We did have a lovely lunch and very much enjoyed looking out at the sea on what turned out to be a beautiful, warm, sunny day. Perfect - except that one of the mains was disappointing to say the least. A favourite fish of ours is turbot so one of us ordered that. It was quite a large portion - which would have been great if it had tasted of anything. In fact, it was a little over cooked as well as tasteless. Yes, we should have complainted and sent it back but we'd shared a lovely starter, were drinking a lovely rose wine and having a long awaited day out - so we let it go. Everything else was fine but at 35 euros for a piece of fish that didnt taste of anything we were, of course, disappointed. Hopefully, this is a lesson learned i.e. do complain if things are not as they should be. Most decent restaurants prefer to know if something is not meeting expectations, and to have the opportunity to put things right. The tasteless turbot this time won't put us off going back to La Sirene - everything else was lovely - and the location alone is worth a visit!More

After several tips from friends, colleagues and family I combine a vacation at the Belgian coast with a visit at “La sirène” …. It was still a 120 km drive but every meter we drove was worth it. The view is amazing and the seafood...super fresh. The fish courses on the menu are very good as well. Staff very friendly! Tip : ask for a table at the big windows with sea view. Conclusion: a hidden treasure… for any occasion but definitely to surprise somebody for a special occasion like a birthday or celebration…More

Awesome views, average food. Nice place, clean and overall friendly staff. Has fresh seafood sharing plate, good, decent, fresh products. Second, grilled lobster (specialty of the house). Fresh lobster (was shown alive) , simply grilled and served with abit of rice. No other condiments. Very...pure tastes, good. Next fish marmite, a kind of bouillabaisse, yet was lacking taste. Decent portion of fish, yet no clambs, no mussels, no other condiments and lagging taste (herbs, salt , pepper) IMO, the dinner was good, but the food is average Can recommend the place for the viewsMore

Beautiful restaurant next to the breathtaking seaside scenery of Cap Gris Nez. For the luckiest ones, you may see some seals popping up in the sea during the meal. The restaurant is (obviously) specialized in sea food; but not only. The offer a wide range...of dishes going from meat dishes to fishes and salads. Service is outstanding; shells, crayfishes and crabs extremely fresh - definitely a place I recommend warmly. Important note, if you wish to visit this place; make sure to reserve in advance!More

Our annual short break of 7 adults to the Pas de Calais normally ends with lunch at La Sirene before we head for the Calais-Dover ferry. 2019 was no exception. Slated as opening at 12 30 pm for lunch, we arrived at around 12 31...pm and got the last space in the car park! We went for the set menu, which has great choice at Eros 32 per head. I had, for the first time, the Cremeux Choux Fleur et Moules. It was an outstanding taste experience with al dente mini cauliflower (white and purple) and succulent mussels in a light, creamy sauce. Main was Cabillaud au Vapeur - steamed Cod with a pea/potato mash. Good, but I needed to add seasoning. Dessert was Saveur du Nord, which was an Apple Sorbet, infused with Gin. I'm not a Gin drinker, but this combination was cooling, palate cleansing and refreshing, with not enough alcohol to make me illegal to drive to the Ferry Port. All 7 were happy with their meal, although one did get a rather sinewy steak. With 3 non-drinkers on Cokes, our 4 friends only consumed one bottle of Muscadet de Sevre et Maine sur Lie. So at a total of Euros 37 per person, including service, it was the most cost effective of our 3 French meals. As for each other year - Great Job, La Sirene!More

I have sporadically had lunch at La Sirene since the late 1970's! Lunch today was to celebrate my partner and my birthdays. We choose the set menu which at 31euros was great value. The restaurant was full and as we had booked in advance we...had a table by the window with clear views over the channel to Dover. We will definitely be back.More

Great restaurant with a fantastic view over the sea. Food was delicious and well presented. Quality/price couldn't be better. Service was also very good and we got all we wished for. Surely a place to go if you are looking for a great meal.

This restaurant has fantastic views to the UK. The food was very good quality and the set menu was a reasonable price. I particularly liked the friendly and efficient service. I would thoroughly recommend this to future travellers but make sure you book ahead!

This is a great traditional French restaurant overlooking the English Channel. Menu is relatively small and concentrates on seafood although there is always a meat option as well. Being a small menu everything is freshly cooked and tastes great. a good wine list and you...can decide if you want to pay 25 Euros or 250 Euros per bottle. A set 3 course menu with a good selection on each course is 30 Euros per person. Service is included in the price. TOP TIP - don't think you can just turn up and get a table - I would strongly advise booking in advance.More

We came in with very high expectations but they were not met. We took the menu and had seafood platter as starter. Waiter noticed that there were 2 oysters on the plate and took it back to return with 1... platter was fine but was...it fresh of the day? Main dish came very quickly after, parmentier of cod. Small portion and mushrooms came out of a cane!!! Expected a more refined dish. We were still enjoying our white wine when they cleaned the main dishes and gave the dessert 1 minute later!!! Also we needed the order the dessert at the menu choice when you have no clue what you fancy as dessert. For me it is also not done to put almonds on a dame blanche (nothing else than good chocolate sauce should be on top) and the ice was not artisinal. In summary, view was good, waiters were friendly but not around at all (except for replacing 1 plate by another) and food very average. We don’t want to come back!More

The restaurant sits right on the sea so you if you get a window seat you feel as though you're actually on the sea! The service is so professional and very friendly and the food is to die for. Delicious food, beautifully presented, generous portions...and incredible value for money. We had the 30 Eur menu which was the best menu and food I've eaten in a long time. A million times better than many of the top restaurants where we live in Belgium. If you're in the area don't miss the opportunity to eat there. Thanks for a great eveningMore
