Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Booked a table for an early New Year’s Eve meal whilst staying at the Old Signal House near Niton Not sure what to expect. Fantastic service, and food and really good service but not over bearing - really helpful staff and fantastic food for both...the vegans and vegetarians in the group and us carnivores 😂. Really enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone. Thanks to Piers for great service and the rest of the teamMore

Had a family dinner here on the 27th, pub was extremely quiet, often the case between Xmas and New Year but the service was excellent, food was really good and beer on tap was great! Amazing they opened really but very glad they did!

Great lunch from the Christmas menu. All three courses were faultless… great quality ingredients, beautifully cooked and nicely presented. Really top class food. The waiting staff were a little diffident and took a while to warm up and the pub itself was a little austere...and lacking atmosphere, but it was a Monday in December so what did I expect! We will return for the highest quality food.More

Very disappointed with my meal. I ordered beef cheek from the Christmas menu which was £23. The meal looked very well presented, but when I tried to cut the beef it was so tough,my knife wouldn’t cut through it. So I didn’t even get to...taste it. When I called the waiter over about it, he said was the beef tough and wasn’t surprised. By the time my meal was replaced everyone else on the table had finished their meal. Also one of our party needed gluten free options. Non were listed on the menu. After a long wait she was told what her options were, including a Christmas pudding. When challenged on this it was rechecked and turned out not to be gluten free. We won’t be visiting again, which is very disappointing as it is local to us all.More

Went for my Birthday meal. Web menu was different to menu on the night but the Manager was incredibly accommodating and personable. It is quite obvious after having 3 beautiful courses why they deserve the AA Rosette. Highly recommend.

This was our 3rd visit for dinner over the last year, when we visit the island. The live music was really good. The 3-4 small children sitting on floor yelping & shouting, running around, not so pleasant, at about 8pm. Don't usually mind, but when...trying to enjoy a pleasant eve & paying £80+ for 2, we didn't want to be in a playground! On this occasion, the service was not up to usual standard. Menu has gone a bit high end, which is nice to see & food was great, but the prices demand better service. Was asked if we'd like desert, yes please. Brought menus, but never returned to take order. After waiting approx 30mins, we decided to pay up & leave. Noticed other tables had paid & left, before empty plates cleared.More
