Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was a classy meal, served in an idyllic country village restaurant. The food (we had Gambas, monk fish, veal and a chocolate fondant / coffee mouse combo) was all exceptional. The service honest, relaxed and in keeping with the venue.

Lovely place, quite a Perigord menu cooked fresh and with enough choice to suit most people. Open most of the year so really a bonus to have somewhere of this quality even in the long winter. Good service, nice wines, friendly atmosphere. Parfait! x

St Victor is a very special place, excellent food at reasonable prices. Very good service from a waitress who was very patient when we arrived fairly late and stayed much later than closing time. A very good choice for my birthday treat. Highly recommend.

This was our first time at this restaurant, it’s really pretty from the outside and has a pleasant dining room with several tables for 2 or 4, there is a private dining area for 8 which would be nice in a special occasion. There is...a good choice on the set menu rod 4 starters, mains and desserts plus two extra starters and mains on the specials board. The courses are mostly either meat or fish. One of the starters was vegetarian (cheese), there was no vegetarian main course but they prepared me a plate of various vegetables and potatoes which was really pretty and delicious. They also had a cocktail of the week and a good wine selection. We really enjoyed our evening, there were 16 of us in total, not bad for a cold November evening, we were the only non French! The food is delicious, beautifully presented and there are tablecloth’s and linen napkins, what’s not to like, we will definitely recommend to others and we will be back.More

We went with a large group of 20 or so, all having a set menu.. The location is superb, in a square of historic cream coloured stone buildings, including the ancient church. The service was very slick and friendly and the main course came on...hot plates! Unusual for a French resto! The food was well presented, but if we had a gripe, the portions were a bit on the small side. The local Bergerac wine was a good accompaniment. If you are in the area, it's a good place to consider.More

We visited this restaurant four times during our recent holiday in the Dronne Valley. On each occasion, the food was lovely - beautifully cooked and presented - and the service excellent. We thoroughly recommend a visit.

My wife and I went with our teenage son. Outstanding is the only word for the food and service. The vegetable soup was lovely. Starters of Scollop and shrimp to tomato and mozzarella crumble, gorgeous. Steak kebabs with blue cheese, separate bowl was done to...perfection. Deserts unbelievable. Service excellent, menu have English translations. Loved the evening, thank you.More

I so love fine food... 5 courses which are so flavoursome you do not need your plate full...… this was not flavourful, and was luke warm. The staff were excellent, 5 stars to them. When sitting outside with coffee and digestives we saw them taking...the wine out of glasses that had been drunk out of and putting the wine back into bottles... not the best dining experience I have had to be honest.. Would not recommend.More

We arrived at just after 6pm with a party of three adults and two very well behaved kids. The restaurant was completely empty and said that they wouldn’t seat us. They were exceptionally rude and unfriendly. I was deeply disappointed after reading the glowing reviews...and had expected that since they advertise a kids menu that they would be kid friendly. Alas... (Note pic of completely empty restaurant)More

Menu du jour of five courses for €13. Bavette du beuf was one of the best steaks I've had. Friendly attentive staff. Beautiful little village on the crest of a hill, with fantastic views a short stroll away.

My husband and I met in this cute village nearly 11 years ago so it will always held close to my heart. We have eaten there 3 times in the last 3 months and it has been consistently great with a warm welcome every time....The menu offers enough choice (something for everyone) without going overboard and the portions are just the right size, not too much (which puts me off). Well done ladies, we will be back.More

I have said before , we have eaten all over France in the past 16 years, I will not harp on about what we had , but Saint Victor is now one of our favorite places to eat.. Inventive recipes , reasonably priced , locally...sourced . And to top it all , Dorothea is a sweetheart, she does not break a sweat , just meanders , and provides a wonderful service , very attentive.. The restaurant is clean and tastefully decorated. This is true French Cuisine without the Michelin prices , let's hope it stays this way... Well done girls .More
