We were recommended The Borrodale for an evening meal by Morag, our lovely landlady at a guest house down the road and I can't understand the negative reviews on here because our food was absolutely AMAZING..way beyond our expectations. I had the mussels followed by the duck breast and it must have been a huge duck because there was lots... More

This was by far the worst pub supper experience of my life! Myself and two friends went into this hotel for an early supper. We were directed into the lounge bar where half a dozen people were having a drink and some food - so it wasn't exactly busy. We were greeted by a very pleasant barmaid who took our... More

Food adequate but not exciting. We ate here on one night on our trip through the Western Isles. No need to book as place was virtually empty when we went.

We popped into here for a late lunch and were made very welcome . Menu in the cafe/bistro comprised burgers, sandwiches, soup and pie everything was freshly prepared . Beef burger was excellent and well presented home made chicken and mushroom pie plentiful just a shame it didn't come with any veg just chips. That said good value for money... More

Very shocked to see bad reviews, I eat here regularly for a treat, the staff are always professional, polite and a will always do everything they can to make your experience great, the food is good and plentiful with fresh local produce always available, as for being dated that is truly it's charm, it might not generate high numbers of... Enjoyed our meal, the service was speedy and efficient and Sheena our pleasant waitress was excellent and very attentive. Food was ok, I can't complain about the food itself more the unimaginative menu on offer. Reasonably priced.

Gin and tonic served in tiny wine glasses with lemon floating on the top. Meat overcooked and served with basic potatoes and vegetables from a freezer. Little flare in the cooking.

Our second visit to this Hotel and we will certainly be coming back for a third visit. Plenty of choice on the menu to suit all in our group. Attentive staff and good craic too. Very tasty mussels went down well, machair potato skins also a big hit. Mains were all generous portions, so much so we couldn't manage a... More

We ate here as it was the only place within walking distance from our accommodation. It was perfectly pleasant inside, the staff were nice and a fair selection of drinks. The food however was basic and awful. I had the "lamb" curry, and I'm pretty sure it was beef. It was dry and tasteless also. My partner had the burger... More

Myself and my colleague were working in the area so after a hard days work we looked around for a hot meal. I wish we had not come across the Borrodale hotel. We arrived at the hotel trying to park our vehicle when a member of staff parked their car in front of us which would have blocked us in.... More
