Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent pub grub and beer. Decor is nothing special and the dining area feels a bit like an American diner. The pubby bits are typical English village pub. Service was friendly and room was warm, being lit with a real fire. Quality of beer was...impressive.More

I had my 30th birthday in the function room upstairs at The Spread Eagle. I have lived in Lymm for the past 8 years and the Spread is my local place to go for a casual drink, catch up with friends, family dinners, pub lunch's/dinner's...and a delicious sunday roast. I decided to have my 30th here because I love it, and the staff are so personable, welcoming and just lovely people. I have known Claire since moving to Lymm, and Claire held the event for me. NOTHING was too much. The decorations were gorgeous, including balloon arches, fairy lights, pampas / flower arrangements, 30th decorations, a post box, table set ups etc. Claire helped find local vendors for the event, she worked the event serving drinks and food, there wasn't a point where people didn't have what they needed. The whole thing was so seamless from start to finish and I couldn't recommend it enough! Thank you so much to Claire and team, I had the best time and I'll see you soon :)More

We made the most of a lovely day to visit Lymm and walk along the canal. We'd been in The Spread Eagle once previously and had good memories of the food from that visit. This time we had the homemade butternut squash and ginger soup....It was absolutely delicious. We were made very welcome on arrival and our food arrived quickly. It really is an excellent village pub, with friendly staff and great service.More

We attended the spread eagle on December 16th for our annual family meal. We normally go elsewhere but I thought we would go here for a change because we were married at the church next door so the pub was part of our wedding day,...with everyone meeting there. Sadly the meal was a disaster. From ordering to receiving the last meal took 2 hours. All the meals came out at different times over 45 minutes and that was after we had waited over an hour and I asked when we would receive any food. My pie was inedible and when I asked for a different piece I was told it was the last one so I sent my food back, as did my wife and my mother in law. I was told when paying that the kitchen was understaffed. I wish I was told this at the start of the meal instead of an annual family meet being ruined. The manager took the meals we sent back off the bill and gave us the drinks for free which was of little benefitMore
