About
We are a traditional village freehouse. We are situated in the Tamar Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We have a unique, stunning view of the valley. We pride ourselves on serving tasty fresh, local produce with quality drinks in a warm, relaxing atmosphere. We are not a restaurant, we are not a gastro pub, we are a traditional British pub and as the Cornish would say…a “proper pub”. Pop in for a drink and food with a view and meet our friendly team including pub dog Harry.

It is a common occurrence to research places to go, trust in virtual recommendations and put your eggs in an unknown basket of experience when on holiday and following this exact adventure, The White Hart Inn… did not disappoint. From the service to the food...and atmosphere to the attention to detail in signage, humour and even toiletries in the ladies, it is very clear to why this pub has been (and should be again) pub of the year. Highly recommend to anyone who likes a good local, with amazing food and good staff. What more could you ask for!More

Clearly this little pub continues to be popular. We arrived a little late which was totally our fault but I did phone twice to let them know. Not a particularly good welcome this time and a long wait for food. However, when the food arrived...it was very good. Perhaps the pub needed more staff but I know how very tricky that issue is everywhere at the moment. The bottom line is will we return? Yes....we will returnMore

Visited Saturday lunchtime, quite quiet, friendly meet and greet from all staff, initial impression was that interior looked tired and the outside decking needed smartening, stunning setting Varied menu, we ate an excellent steak pie and lamb moussaka, which were both v tasty and huge...portions (too big?), vegies undercooked and looked unappetizing, good pint of Uley IPA. So overall, main meals v good, friendly staff, lovely settingMore

We both booked in for the Sunday lunch and chose the roast lamb. We were not disappointed it was fantastic. Lean meat and a great vegetable selection. The gravy was out of this world. Adrian the head chef was very attentive and helpful as also...a waiter . He made a special effort on the mint sauce.! Will definitely visit again and recommend this pub for the food.More

Visited with friends for Sunday lunch in a large party. Had to wait a little while for the food but when it came it arrived all at once and was very tasty and hot. Only had one waitress serving us all but she was friendly...and hard working. The views out the back are lovely. Would definitely recommend this place. This was our 2nd visit and I look forward to going again.More

After reading so many great reviews it was a bit of a disappointing experience. Don’t get me wrong, the food was excellent. When we eventually got it! We waited an hour and a half!!! Ordered at 8.00 was eating at 9.30. We had to ask...twice for our food. Not really acceptable and I felt guilty when I complained. The pub was very busy and has no covid measures which worried me as I am still being cautious. Wont be visitIng again on a Friday night, it is far too busy and food service is extremely slow.More

First visit for 4 of us. Starters of seafood bisque with warm crusty bread devilled kidneys & pate, good portion sizes, really tasty and nicely presented. Mains ocean pie the best I’ve tasted, packed full of fresh tasting fish and large scallops. Pork stroganoff and...the battered fish. All Delicious. Couldn’t eat desert as too full. I really wanted to try the crumble. Next time definitely. It was great too that the hosts are really attentive. Bringing extra cutlery without needing to ask, taking orders quickly, we were very well taken care of despite being a busy pub. Glad we don’t live too far away, will definitely visit again soon. Thankyou chef for the fab food.More
