My husband and I celebrated his birthday this weekend in St. Eustatius in the Caribbean. We chose the historic Old Gin House because of it's location along the sea and we both love history! We were greeted by Marlies (she and husband Sybolt manage the hotel) and were given a suite upgrade which was very kind of them and unexpected.... More

We traveled to Statia for the scuba diving. The Old Gin House was perfect for us as it was almost next door to the dive shop. I struggle with what level of rating to give this hotel. The buildings are unique, owners and staff were friendly, food was very good, rooms were clean. We had an oceanfront room which I... More

Had drinks and dinner here several times during my visit to Statia in early August. Service was excellent and food was great. Drink prices were surprisingly low. Food was priced what I would expect for a small island. Great place to catch the sunset.

Although the Old Gin House is not fancy - it is comfortable and clean - and in a great location next to the Scubaqua Dive Center. For divers looking for a place to dive off the beaten path - this is the place! One of the best night dives in the Caribbean, amazing history and completely laid back.

If you have come to St. Eustatius to dive, you will find no more convenient and comfortable place to stay than The Old Gin House. It is a five minute walk to Golden Rock Dive Center and practically next door to the other dive operator on the island. We stayed in an ocean view suite that was full of charm,... More

We had the small apartment next to the Bar. Very comfortable, clean and quiet. The bar apparently was not open, which was dusappointing. Breakfast was very good.

We had dinner here twice and the whole experience was outstanding! The location is very nice, located right on the beach. They have a very large menu to choose from and the food was great every time. You have to try the ribs! This is one place you must visit if you're looking for great dining (but can get expensive... More

They have a great dinner menu. The lobster is very tasty. Friends had ribs and chicken and enjoyed that as well. For lunch, the burger was good, however the tuna fish my friend ordered was not. They are very pricey for lunch, but you can't beat the view, the breeze and the cocktails. Great rum punch and mojitos.

This restaurant is under new management and it shows. The new owners have pulled out all the stops. I have been off and on the island for years and this is now one of my favorite places. The prices are very fair. They have a great deink menu and the food is fantastic!

The restaurant at the Old Gin House is not great. Our salads were covered with far too much dressing. Our mains, snapper and the rasta pasta were OK for food but not memorable for taste. We did not return for dinner here.
