Haliotis has history. The food is good in a traditional way. No baja-med or other fusion cuisine in the menu. Service is good, the owners are always there with a smile. As others mentioned, the restaurant needs updating, but it's not uncomfortable in any way....More
This last visit was my 4th in more than 10 years. Each time I say it will be my last!! (This time I mean it...) This seafood restaurant is well-known and, by some, well-thought-of... For me, it is consistently mediocre. Ensenada is known for its...More
This seafood restaurant is consistently good and affordable. The service is good and the food is always prepared to perfection. The atmosphere is super and you feel like you are a part of Ensenada!

Haliotis is the Greek word for abalone. A number of years ago when I was here the owner explained to me how his mother lived on an island south of Ensenada and arranged to have fresh abalone flown to here a couple times a week....More
