One of my absolute favorite places to savor delicious food and creative sauces. I just love the Duck enchiladas. Also wonderful are the creative jarritos, made with fruit, tequila and spices. The service is excellent, and everyone is friendly. I can't wait to go back!

We visited Maia restaurant last year during restaurant week and truly enjoyed the experience. We went back there this year with six of us and again we were treated to a wonderful dining experience. I had the lamb chops and the crab appetizer. Both were great! However, please do not leave this restaurant without trying the house coffee. The coffee... More

We have been in Puerto Vallarta for a week and have had dinner at Maia three times. Each time has been as good as the last which was always excellent. A wonderfully creative menu delightfully presented and professionally served. The Mexican Sauvignon Blanc wine was a delightful surprised and the Mexican Tira Misu is to die for. I have no... More

Visited on Vallarta Food Tour. Returned the next night. we had the duck tacos (again), Hugo Cesear salad, Flap Steak, and Jericalla for desert. All excellent. Very flavorful. We call gourmet, not continental, but a mix of continental techniques with Mexican flair. If you go to Café des Artistes, Trio, or Vitea give this a try!

We were told by our hotel concierge that Maia had closed--probably so he could steer us to some less interesting place that would give him a kickback. How lucky we were to doubt him and investigate in person. We found Maia open and welcoming and so delicious that we ate three dinners there in the course of a week, including... More

During our vacations in Puerto Vallarta we have visited Maia's every year since its opening 4 years ago and this year we came back twice bringing along friends. Chef Hugo is a culinary magician. The meals are unique, creative and mouth watering. Every visit was like a new experience. Not only was the food great but the presentation was eye... More

Maia (and the creative team behind the restaurant - starting with the Chef) never disappoint. This is one of my absolute favorite places to eat in Puerto Vallarta hands down and a MUST every time I travel to the area (a few times a year). They are on a mission to revive traditional Vallarta cuisine using local organic ingredients and... More

We were brought here by friends and were blown away by the unique , creative, and beautifully presented food. The owner/Chef, Hugo, worked at one of the most well known and highly rated restaurants in the city before opening Maia. We returned with 3 other couples a week later, and had another wonderful meal. All of us have been coming... More

Description
Maia comes and exists in several cultures, where they match as the  Goddess and Protector of Mother Earth, which "provides all without asking for anything in return".
It is also the name of my daughter,  and is the name of a supreme blessing in my life and its' meaning is love..

In Maia restaurant, our intention is to share a small sample of what Mother earth gives us, made with love in our poetic kitchen; that is our intent, as well our main ingredient.
We believe that we should always give thanks for our foods, as they are the gift that Maia offers.

We invite you to enjoy and share love without the super-ego, and live your present as you desire; to enjoy the enjoyable.

Here, in Maia, we promote and believe in what has been made in Mexico, should be shared. We have space for all, to share our huge Mexican heart.
The products we share are grown locally, fresh daily, organic, and they're from local producers who work every day to support their families and doing what they do with love.

Thanks in advance for your visit and allow us to continue making this dream
blessings (Hugo Ahumada).
