After spending a few days in Puerto Vallarta's Romantic Zone and having many good (but not great) meals, I finally asked the concierge at our boutique hotel where I could find some "REALLY good Mexican food." He immediately responded with "The Red Cabbage!" And, since it was only a 10 min. walk from our hotel, we headed out...and we are... More

My group was enamored with Red Cabbage cafe. Call ahead for it is small and fills quickly, and bring pesos. Lots of autentico dishes to recommend: Both mole´s, peanut soup. Priced fairly.

We checked the website for your hours (open until 11pm) and showed up at 10:15pm only to be told that the kitchen was closed. That the restaurant closes at 11pm and the kitchen at 10:30pm, but it was 10:15??? After my partner questioned the 2nd server, he was told that the kitchen was already closed, but that "he would reopen... More

This was our favorite meal of our recent trip to Puerto Vallarta. Started off with a pitcher of margaritas, which were nicely balanced. We had the following: Queso Rebecca: Shared this appetizer, which was actually a bit disappointing. The red pepper dip was good with tortillas, but the panela cheese was a bit plain. Mole Oaxaceña and Mole Poblano --... More

It's on our Must List every year. Always something different on the menu to try and enjoy. Authentic Mexican food in a quaint room with eclectic artwork.

I went to dinner here with a group of friends. The cafe is located up the river just a bit from the Zona Romantica. It is probably walkable, but a taxi or car is recommended. I have been here several times on prior trips. The food quality is consistently good. The staff are very friendly and service is good. On... More

First off the location on the trip Advisor is off by a few blocks . I was on foot and thankfully figured out a way to get to the Red Cabbage Cafe and I'm sure glad I did . I knew it was going to be a fun experience as soon as I was greeted by the doorman . It's... More

It is a bit hard to find and not a restaurant on the boardwalk but surely worth the effort. It is on the Rio Cuale in a local neighborhood. The decor is Mexican , funky, Diego Riviera and Frida Kahlo inspired. Colorful, and happy. The ambiance is nice and laid back with something new to see in every spot. The... More

A few people had recommended this place and I went with a large group. Many places say their mole is homemade but in this place it really is. I have been looking for .molrmold for the past two years and finally found it. Everyone loved their meal and we all had something different. Going back next week and will do... More
