This restaurant was recommended by various people in Mexico City, so we thought we would give it a try. My wife and I enjoyed their Chile Relanos, Mixed Enchiladas and a cold beer to end our long day in the city. The staff was very friendly and the service was great. The food was exceptional!!!! Our only regret, is we... More

We were advised by our hotel to try the Cafe and were not disappointed. The food was wonderful. Best Chilies Rellenos I have had since Texas decades ago. Huge servings but delicious. Wine list a bit short, but other beverages are available. Very short wait though they don't take reservations. Many families and locals as well as touristas. The building... More

It's a good restaurant. The building is really nice and the food is as good as the service. You can eat mexican food.

If you are looking to jump into a cultural immersion this is the place. Former nun cafeteria, traditional tiles, food and mariachi band. The fruit drinks were fabulous as was the cactus salad and mole. This is not today's nouvelle, it is war, fun and friendly with a great mix of local and visitors.

We visited the restaurant, hoping for a quiet evening with delicious food - we got a cacaphony of sound, terrible service and mediocre food - though lots of it. Visiting with a friend, she ordered only an entree and my wife and I ordered the 'plate of the day' which included an appetizer, entree, soup, rice, desert and a beverage... More

Cafe Tacuba's venue is located in a lovely Colonial building. Food is good without e wow factor but very traditional. Service was not really fast but attentive. They have specially prepared a green sauce for my friend who enormously appreciated this action.

My family and I visited this place during the holidays on a weekday. The place was full! Lots of tourists and locals enjoying the traditional Mexican cuisine and decoration. I had been to this restaurant many years ago and hadn't actually liked it. This time around it was different and I did enjoy our dinner experience. The menu has lots... More

First of all, this centenary restaurante located in a old two floors building in downtown has a complete menu of Mexican food from different areas of the country. We tried a good entries of enchilada, chicken in mole sauce, and fish Veracruz style. Great option in the old part of Mexico City

This restaurant immediately reminded us of a little spot we found in liberated Prague. The decor and murals were 1950's vintage. The service and food were high quality, the atmosphere unbeatable, great variety and obviously a local favorite. If you want a flavorful taste and touch of Mexico City, then this is the place.

Cafe de Tacuba was an absolute delight. The namesake of my favorite Mexican band, its atmosphere and decor are beautiful, classic and timeless. Great service and the price isn't too high. I've had a lot of mole in my life and this chicken mole was the best. The enchiladas in green sauce, a house specialty, were fantastic. Be sure to... More
