Casino Español is a traditional restaurant located in a remarkable historic building downtown Mexico DF. It is a great choise for those who want to taste high qualitily Spanish food. I went there with friends a Sunday afternoon and had a great experience. Most customers were local families who seemed to go there often. What impressed me the most was... More

This is a hidden gem in the historic area. A short walk from El Zocalo, the Casino is a gorgeous building. There is a meson downstairs open only on weekdays. The restaurant upstairs serves excellent fare. The pulpo a la gallega was tender and flavorful, the garlic soup delicious as was the fabada. Service was attentive and prompt. Highly recommend!

We did a Saturday afternoon lunch and it was great! The restaurant was really busy, but the host staff was right on target with their projected wait time (30 minutes for a two-top at 3:30pm). Our server was Gerardo and he was fantastic. Drinks, food, everything came out right on time. We split the Tortilla Española and it was perfect... More

Every time I go to mexico City downtown, I enjoy, a good meal. This time, "sopa de ajo, and bacalao glaseado". Both delicious. And they have a peruvian painter's exhibition.

When I was little, I was convinced that only after weeks of particularly good behaviour was I allowed to join my parents for a Sunday noon concert and then go on to lunch at Casino Español. Thus, if I was mostly a really good girl it's because I revelled at the thoughts of the delicious treats that awaited me behind... More

The restaurant is located in a beautiful old building with history. It is always full of people and lousy during weekend. The price is very reasonable and I love the steak on the stone grill and pulpo dish. The only downside is the restaurant closes too early and I cannot go there for dinner.

We´ve heard that this restaurant was a bit expensive and were so pleasantly surprised to discover that it is great value for money for breakfast. Food is delicious and service impeccable. Setting is so grand though inside the restaurant is a bit not that impressive but still ok. Highly recommended for weekend breakfast. Arrive about 9am on a Sunday and... More

Pricey, but worth it. Reserve or wait up to an hour to be seated. There's a children area where they can eat and all, so it can be a quiet meal for you and your party. Fabada is great!
