It's very good and inexpensive. Is located in a very beautiful building downtown Mexico City. I would recommend the daily menu, usually is very good and plenty for the day, you may skip dinner!

The building is beautiful, worth seeing it; particularly the lobby, with its amazing grandeur. The restaurant is OK. Long time ago it used to be a great place for good food, Spanish style. Some dishes, like the tortilla española, paella or the fideua can be disappointing. Not bad however, just lame. Tapas and appetizers are good and they have good... More

The building you enter to get to the upstairs restaurant is an absolute gem, take time to have a look around. The restaurant itself is large and very busy on a weekend, get there before 2.30 especially on a Sunday, but even if you have to wait. Food is traditional Spanish fare but very well done, very reasonable prices and... More

The paella was disappointing -- the seafood wasn't fresh at all. We had a fish with seafood on it -- that was a 4/5. Good service but I would not make a return.

Food was average. Heavy on the cheese and sauce lacking flavour. They missed half of the order - food never came. When the bill came I paid in cash it was for 450. Pesos so I put down 460. Counted and double counted. Left the cash on the table and as the waiter started to count it we started to... More

Casino Español is a traditional restaurant located in a remarkable historic building downtown Mexico DF. It is a great choise for those who want to taste high qualitily Spanish food. I went there with friends a Sunday afternoon and had a great experience. Most customers were local families who seemed to go there often. What impressed me the most was... More

This is a hidden gem in the historic area. A short walk from El Zocalo, the Casino is a gorgeous building. There is a meson downstairs open only on weekdays. The restaurant upstairs serves excellent fare. The pulpo a la gallega was tender and flavorful, the garlic soup delicious as was the fabada. Service was attentive and prompt. Highly recommend!

We did a Saturday afternoon lunch and it was great! The restaurant was really busy, but the host staff was right on target with their projected wait time (30 minutes for a two-top at 3:30pm). Our server was Gerardo and he was fantastic. Drinks, food, everything came out right on time. We split the Tortilla Española and it was perfect... More

Every time I go to mexico City downtown, I enjoy, a good meal. This time, "sopa de ajo, and bacalao glaseado". Both delicious. And they have a peruvian painter's exhibition.
