I'm no connoisseur of bakeries but this has to be one of the world's best. An unbelievable selection of pastries, cakes, cookies, gelatins, etc. in a 2-story 19th century building. Grab a tray and tongs to collect your pastries, or order at the various counters for chocolates, gelatins, or cookies and they'll give you a ticket. Take your pastries to... More

This place is just AMAZING!!! this bakery is what pastry and cake dreams are made from. The smell instantly hits you as you walk inside paradise. They sell all kinds of pastries, cookies and cakes. Be sure to get here early to get a wider variety of items. The place is a bit chaotic when paying because you are supposed... More

This location must have moved because we had a heck of a time finding it with the Calle 16 de Septiembre address. Google maps led us to Republica De Uruguay 74 where we finally found it. So worth the searching! This place is bakery heaven! If you have never been to a Mexican bakery, watch the locals. You will need... More

The prices on the pastries are beyond cheap. And everything tastes delicious and very fresh. Just go and buy several items to try. Don't wait very late in the afternoon though because they run out of pastries.

I've never seen so many cakes and pastries in one place before. The selection is incredible and people really buy A LOT of items when they're here. It's all pretty much self serve and a bit confusing as there really is a lot to see and it's hard to figure out exactly what there believe it or not. They have... More

Pasteleria Ideal was two blocks from our hotel, and I noticed it as we walking toward the Zocalo. This bakery has two large floors filled with every and any kind of cake, pastry or cookie you could want. The shelves are lined on both sides with some very large wedding type cakes, as well as thousands of varieties of pastries... More

Our Estación Mexico guide took us in and my jaw dropped! Huge bakery with a variety selection of bread. I purchased a 1/2 kilo of "pasta seca" which are the cookies. Spent almost an hour in three different lines:get ticket to pay, then paying for cookies, and finally getting my box, but totally worth it because they were delicious. Our... More

Came across this bakery while walking to our hotel - amazing experience to watch the local people piling their trays high from the seemingly endless variety of pastries, cupcakes, and other assorted sweet bread treats. Was a bit of a madhouse on Sunday afternoon, but weekday visits were a lot calmer. Everything we tried was so good we even brought... More

Our small American group was the only non-Mexican contingent piling our trays high with pan dulce, cream puffs, rocas chocolates, fruit empanadas and more. At least we were not embarrassed. Everyone in the place appeared to be preping for ap delicious pig out. The amazing thing was we spent less than $10 and left with bags and bags full of... More
