We had arrived on a Wednes day, and were staying on Paseo de la Reforma. We had walked over to the Palacio de La Artes to but tickets to the Ballet Folklorico. We wanted to have our first dinner to be a nice one It was approaching late lunch early dinner. We checked out trip advisor and settled on the... More

I found this restaurant on TripAdvisor, where it's placed as #3 in Mexico City. Overall, it was OK experience, but definitely not the experience you expect from such a highly ranked place. We ordered salad with lettuce, fruits, nuts and feta, which was the most tasty choice. Other our choices as tacos and lamb was far below average.service was great... More

Hello, Thank you for leaving a review about your visit on TA. We regret that the lamb tacos were so disappointing and so we will check over them. Kind regards. More

In Mexico City, true locals, living life fully, know that restaurants can deliver it all... food - design - location and the opportunity for people watching. Our friend and guide - Mauro Calderon - a well regarded classically trained opera tenor, and recorded in many forms including duets and ranchero styles has also developed his artistic senses when it comes... Had lunch yesterday at El Cardenal and found it to be very good. We tried the "escamoles" ant larvae in a butter with Epazote mix, delicious although quite heavy on the stomach. We followed the finger food with some duck tacos and a rare dish, a "Mixiote" of Maguey Flowers with Escamoles, wonderful but also quite heavy. I finished with... More

Highly recommended as the best Mexican food. Decent on the better side, excellent flavors and good presentation, kind service.I guess my expectations were a tad different, more towards the latest avant garde Mexican restaurants.

This place is for foodies. Great menu and different flavors. Went there twice and was not disappointed at all. Ordered different things, and was very tasty, very well prepared, excellent service, and quality/quantity was excellent.

We stop by here on our way to Bellas Artes, and it was truly delicious. The place is nice and the service excellent, the prices are affordable. They welcomed us with some sweet bread and artesanal chocolate. We will definitely recommend it.

This branch of the Cardenal restaurants, located inside the Hilton, is one of the best breakfast options in the city. We arrived at 10am on a Sunday and waited about 45 minutes for a table, but the time in the lobby passed quickly as they offer free coffee and the people watching is good. Unlike most restaurants the staff are... More

Staying in Alameda

Neighbourhood Profile
Alameda
This beautiful park was once the playground for the wealthiest families in the colonial era, and is now the perfect place where locals and visitors can spend a sunny weekend afternoon to relax or shop for souvenirs at the market. Kids can run around or grab a bite of cotton candy while teens and adults wander around admiring the charming gardens and the sculptures that adorn it. Once the heat rises, it may be time to visit one of the many cozy restaurants or cafés with its characteristic art nouveau facades to cool down and call it a day.
