We received a recommendation to visit the place and try the vegan bread. Then decided to visit the restaurant which is tiny but comfortable in an open place with some plants surrounding the tables. The food is very good and the owner/host is a gentle man who warranties that the food should satisfy you or you don't pay. The promise... More

Very casual and local place, their speciality is malt food and hamburgers, great attention from the owners. They have a drink named Orzata, which is like the Mexican Horchata and is delicious. Also the hamburgers are great, different than the traditional ones, but quite tasty. If you want to try something casual, with great food and attention, this is a... More

If you are in MX City for a week or so you may begin to tire of MX food. La Santa Gula is the answer. Actually it is a go to place anytime!! Like many reviewers we had lasagna and the burger. Both A++ as well as the almond milk and lemonade.

We had to wait about 30 minutes to get a table. It is a very small place. They have traditional food from Malta. Mark, the owner, was there. A very nice and funny guy. The food is really good. They have hamburgers in four different sizes and many flavors. I had the chipotle burger filled with Gouda cheese, extraordinary!! They... More

What at first appeared to be a "hole in the wall" turned into a top notch dining experience! From the get go Chef/Owner mark attended to us with an unbelievable knowledge of the Culinary Arts. Homemade breads, pastries, pastas, almond milks, cheese infused burgers and hand cut fries, all 5 STARS ! we had to cut through the immaculate kitchen... More

We went with friends and it was a great experience. The host of the place is great, he gives amazing recommendations and you should listen. The food is great at a great price. Everything we tried was very tasty and you should leave some room for desert and coffee.

It is a small place that gets a lot of demand, so I would recommend getting early or making a reservation (mostly if you are a big group) It is kind of weird but interesting how you go through the kitchen to get a table in the backyard. I had the Peresoza burger, which is bacon + cheese and it... More

Excellent food! When I heard there was a Maltese restaurant in the heart of Mexico City, I knew I had to try it since I am Maltese myself :) The owner, Mark, welcomed us with open arms and I was so happy to see the selection of Maltese food dishes on the menu - we tried delicious timpana, qassatat and... Excellent food in a surprising place. Looks like a bakery but in fact there is a long place beside. The speciality is Maltese food and deserts. I was too full to eat a desert but Mark, the ultra cool owner make me taste a "Profiterolle" which was excellent. Nice place owned by nice people !

Neighbourhood Profile
Once you step into Coyoacán (“Land of the Coyotes”) you'll find picturesque parks and cantinas that will transport you back to the colonial era thanks to the brick and stone details of the area. Iconic writers such as Trotsky and great painters like Frida Kahlo seeked refuge and inspiration in this area, and you can see the unique spirit of this neighborhood reflected in its colorful market where nieves, sopes and all kinds of traditional 'antojitos' are a must try. Restaurants and cafés throughout its peaceful paved streets contain traditional but unique murals and decorations, where one can enjoy a mezcal at noon or the best churros with a cup of coffee.
